Hi Keith, Gregger and all. I have done a deal on a 2014 America, the Deluxe was getting to hard to handle for a guy a few weeks short of 70 years of age. Also having a problem with my knees doesn't help. Had a ball riding my Softail for the last 5 years, and looking forward to riding the America as long as I can keep fit enough. I will post some photos when I get it. About 2 weeks. Just to rub it in Keith, we have had 30c weather for the last 2 months. How deep is the snow in Canada ?

Thanks for the early birthday wishes Billy.

As long as the guy up above keeps giving me the strength I shall keep on riding.

Hey Franky. Is that you?
Well well well.....back from the dead and now we'll have to put up with the constant ribbing about the climate in Canada. Sigh! Here we go again....in a good way though!

Really glad to hear from you Frank. Good to see you purchased another America. Sadly I sold mine a few years ago. Bought a new 2012 Rocket Roadster. (Photos in bike section). I'm in love with this monster and the power it delivers along with the comfort especially on long hauls. I'll be retiring on my birthday in April this year. Looking forward to riding across Canada again. Might even end up in the Kelona region of BC where my wife plans to fly to meet some girlfriends for a 1 week getaway. I'll post pics if I make it. You make sure to post some of the pics you've taken of the many trips you've had on the Harley over the last 5 years. I can't believe it's been that long. Glad to hear you can still ride even at 70. With me turning 64 and still healthy, I'll go as long as I can. I've got lots of plans for the upcoming summer. Will probably point the bike in one direction and just ride with no real plan. With a son in Edmonton and one in Ottawa, who knows where I'll end up.

Keith has been out of the loop for some time addressing personal issues with his family but will respond if you pm him. Miss the constant bantering we used to have. Give Keith a pm. Maybe he'll respond by posting here again. All the best buddy.

Hi Greg, Good to know that you hadn't forgotten me. Although I had a great time riding my Softail it got to the stage that I didn't feel confident riding over 330 Kgs. at my age. And only being 5'6" my legs were at full stretch. I have had an operation on my left knee and was told by the specialist that if it went again I would need a replacement knee. I am also waiting on an operation on my right knee for torn cartilage. And to cap it all off I had an operation on my right eye for a detached retina which took me out of the saddle for 3 months. It's great that you are going to retire, I retired 10 years ago and I now find that with a 5 acre property and my bike I don't know when I ever had time for a job. We also go away on vacation twice a year either to Bali (which is where we will be in 6 weeks) or on a cruise. I hope you enjoy the trip across Canada and keep the shiny side up. I send you and your family my best wishes for the future.
Last but not least, we have had daytime temperatures for the last 2 months of +30c. It might sound good but you do get tired of it. Also no rain to speak of we are down to our last water tank (we lve on rainwater).
I will send Keith a message when I can. I know how he feels having lost my brother 3 years ago, and him living on the other side of the world I just could not make it to see him.
All for now. Frank
