If she's getting better, check for ANY type of poison she might have got into. Some plants are deadly to animals.

I asked Kizmitt if she wanted to go for a ride and her ears went up and she actually trotted over to the truck so I took her to the store where I bought canned dogfood in an effort to get mopre nourishment in her. She wouldn't touch it.When I got home I made the dogs each a hotdog, Kizmitt ate about half hers with a little coaxing. I was happy she ate something but wished it was more and something better. I made myself some chicken livers in butter and onions that I had bought for her to help with her anemia. Turns out I like them. I took the plate over to her and she licked off the plate. Since she did that I went down and fried up some more, I brought those and the rest of her hotdog up to her. She ate the hotdog hungrily and then I went on to the livers, She gobbled them right down too!!! I am ecstatic!! She ate the livers to help her anemia, got some iron in her system!! I went from being a grown man crying like a little girl to a grown man dancing in his heart like a kid on Christmas!

Be careful with that! Onion is very bad for dogs!

I didn't give her the onions just the meat.

Thanks guys, she has started meeting me at the door when I get home again and today she took her bone (beef basted biscuit)and actually ate it and then a whole small can of wet dog food! She has really made a remarkable recovery! I know she is old and who knows how much longer I have her but I am happy to have any more time I can get! When I took her to emergency on Sunday I had no hope at all and looked like she was going to pass and the vet only gave me a weeks worth of meds for a treatment that takes a month for the lime disease and I am going to get the rest of the dosages tomorrow!

Thank you guys for all your well wishes. Today Kizmitt cleared what I consider the last hurdle. She had her back end tucked under nose up in the air spinning in circles and running at me to grab her neck and spin her around! She is acting her normal lunatic self again! Don't know how long I have left but this wasn't her time yet!

Guess you made her want to stay with you more than crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Well done, Ian.

I didn't read this until today because I was afarid of a negative outcome. I'm glad I did though. I've also been in situations where I couldn't afford expensive vet care and get pretty emotional about my dogs. You are a good man for sticking with Kizmitt, Ian. She has no better friend than you. I am happy for both of you!

As somebody said, it does make you think about some kind of poison plant.

Anyway, I'm very glad she got over it.

She bounced back. So cool... enjoy the extra moment you can with her. Great news, Ian.
