Looks like the wifee will have to go because her boss dosnt want to make the trip this time so he is electing her to go in his place. We are thinking I might as well go also. Didn't think I would ever got out west again in this lifetime because i really dont care to fly commercial again but never say never lol anyway I got to wondering if there is a place to rent a Triumph there. Or would I be stuck renting a hog ? What else is there to do besides the usuall casino and show things? I have no intrest in the glitz and glitter of vagas if I go I will do hoover and am looking at what else is there to do like that. Talked about the bunny ranch but I don't think that's gonna happen lol she poo pood that pretty quick lol so can I rent something besides hd and what else is there to do. Who lives there ? Might be nice to ride with someone who knows his way around or just do lunch. Helmet law?? Or any other special laws I need to know about rideing? What's the weather in mid sept day and night? Not sure yet that I want to or will go but if I do I don't want to do the vagas thing.

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

I don't know of anyplace to rent a Triumph, but sport bikes, bimmers and wings are rented at various places. Yes on the helmet law. Looks like I may have my bike in pieces at the time but we might still get together. Weather in mid Sept usually 90s in the day, 60-70s low at night. How long will you be here?

Yes, yes you do for just one day. All the flashing lights and noise and people...if the Naval battle is still running at Treasure Island, go. Gotta wander through Caesar's mall just to watch the animatronics, then over to Venice for the gondoliers. The Irish pub in New York serves a mean shepherd's pie and authentic pints. Luxor just for the staff costumes. Bellagio for the water ballet. It's really Disneyworld for adults with a side helping of sex.

Then, when you really want to see something go here: http://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire-state-park/

Last time I was in Vegas, the concier (?spelling) found a rocket III rental for me, they also had some T-100's and some Sprint GT's ...renting a Harley is very easy as there are alot of harley rentals...they have guided bike runs for folks and being in Nevada, you can always "hire" a young lady from the area to ride pillion to show you around....I understand this is an hourly charge but probably cheaper during the daylight hours !
Places to see besides Boulder Dam (Hoover Dam) and good places for a ride are , Death Valley (about 90 miles) , Red Rock Canyon , Grand Canyon, Laughlin, and the "alien hwy" which runs by Area 51......there is alot to see and do in the Vegas area....including ghost towns, etc, etc, etc...

Day time in Vegas is not glitzy it looks like any other city bleached by the hot desert sun but I am willing to bet when it goes down and the lights come up you're going to be like a kid with a shinny new penny all wide eyed and gobstruck.

In May we drove (car, there were 2 non riders) to the Hoover dam then up along the west side of the lake. Keep going until the clock says turn around.

Icemech and i rented a coupla HDs from www.escapeeagles.com back in march .Victor, the owner, was a great guy to deal with, made it easy ,told us where we could get to and back on our 8hr rental. guy was bang on.we did the Valley of Fire , Lake Mead ,Hoover Dam then back to Vegas, lots of photo stops(my camera crapped out and i didnt know, lost tons of great pics, iam still choked) etc bit of traffic bs on hiway back but got back with a 15 mins to spare . luved Vegas phenominal place ,cant wait to go back .Gordon Ramsays (hate the guy)Burgr place in Planet Hollywood was the best meal i ate there, wicked gourmet burgers and pretty awesome fries . i also got a 7 ounce Glenfiddich and soda in PH ,then walked around the strip with it...good times . so much to do so little time . enjoy your trip .

I suggest a stop at the general store in Blue Diamond (near Red Rock Canyon) - there is a historical marker there for the Pony Express trail.

Bonnie Springs Ranch (also near RRC) is a cheezy old west theme town; last time I was there, bikes were waived in, no entrance fee. It's mostly kid attractions & shows, but a fun stop if you haven't BTDT before.

Sunset from the AZ side of the Hoover Dam is a treat.

Ride the Strip. Only need to do it once, & you're set for life.

I understand that most guys that go to Pahrump (or is it Par-hump?) don't go for the race track. So I'm told. That's Vag-ass though, & arguably bad form with the misses along.

And you know its Vegas, baby...

Howdy newt, long time no see bud.
First of all it is Vegas, not Vagas.
Try to check out the town of Boulder. It is a really pretty and quaint little town with lots of cool history. Go to the Boulder Inn and have a few of their fine microbrews. They make a Bolder Dam Beer.
Bring lots of sunscreen too, it is freaking hot too.
If you like Mexican food, try to find a Roberto's and try their carne asada torta, to die for they are great.
Have a good time.
In Vegas if you go to Terribles Casino you can sit at the bar and drink FREE top shelf booze as long as you have a couple bucks in the video poker machines built into the bar. Good free buzz. I recommend the Petron tequila myself.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

If you are like us down under and like a beer or twenty Fremont st in the old part of Vegas is the way to go. Cheaper meals and 2 dollar coronas. Less hassle and easier to get around. Even met a very dusky Elvis there. Great fun!!!

My wife and I rented from Eaglerider two years in a row --- yes, we both had Harley's, but it was ok for day... Folks there are great and gave us a discount the second year.

Rent them overnight ....Red Rocks is a great warm up for the first afternoon....then next day go to the Valley of Fire up around Lake Mead. Take a short detour and ride over and back across Hoover Dam.

Another great trip is Mt Henderson...totally different climate and landscape.

I'm sure that you mean Mount Charleston, no Mt. Henderson around here. And yes it is a nice ride.

Anymore I almost always stay on Freeont Street. The Strip is too much of a hassle. You can actually walk up and down Fremont.

Well I was told today its a done deal. Wife has to go for work and she is going to drag me along. Lol we will be staying at the mirage as she will be working in ceasers. Which we are told is next door? She was told it was closer to the store than than staying in ceasera? Wtf ? Don't know bout that but bill just posted where I can rent a Triumph and being that you folks have given me some good things to do places to go and things to see I don't really care where we stay. Will be there for like 12 days and I don't drink and I don't gamble and am not real big on expensive shows haveing these other things to keep me occupied is makeing the trip not look half bad and with a Triumph under me I think all will be fine.

Your correct it is next door.....BUT.....next door is a relative assessment. Its still a walk from the rooming area of Mirage to the (I am assuming) conference area at Caesars. You will have fun,but 12 days is a long trip with no boozing and gambling
The weather is starting to cool off (a little)so the riding will be nice. Freedom Cycle is south of the strip so your first ride probably should be Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.Probably still too hot for Death Vally.

Thanks guys !!!! yep she was awsome lady. i wish everyone could have a Mother in Law like the one i was fortunate enough to be given. if so there would be a lot less M I L jokes lol. she was forever on my side and always wanted to be sure everybody was ok. i could always talk to her about her daughter and never was there a cross word to me about anything and believe me i gave her enough reason to not like me hahahhahahaha she would never want to ride with me and thought i was crazy for doing it and would always let me know "you take them kids out for ride you better be careful, them are my grand babies/ babies" she would say. She loved her family and did a great job being a Mom. She was one of those people that everybody liked/loved and she will be missed for sure, they live in a little town in the thumb area of Mi. where everybody knows everybody and word has spread like wildfire and every place i have been since yesterday the people have said something positive to me about her. she was active in the community and the church where she sang and oh my how that woman could sing for being 4'10" she sang like she was 7' hahahahaha i got a feeling this is going to be quite the wake in this small town. there have already been several people stop by to see if there is anything they can do. she will be missed!!!! Amazing how strong Diamond is being through this, i have a feeling when its all over its gonna hit her hard and we have a long ride home.
