Hey steve - I don't know what's gone down but my guess is you're over-reacting to some sour old fart's cultural misunderstanding or lack of a sense of humour. You got my stay vote with a big tick. Disregard any negative votes - you can't please everyone and who gives a sh1t what they think anyway.

Steve - here are some principles I use when navigating a forum like this one:

1. No-one really knows you from the few words we write to each other and the few times we might actually meet - so their judgement of you can be of little value at best and totally wrong (either good or bad) at worst. Of course this also applies to our judgement of others here.

2. It's VERY EASY to be misunderstood. What we intend to mean can be taken completely the wrong way because of poor communication, cultural differences, no emotion, facial expressions, tones and nuances that spoken communications delivers and we have different types of humour.

3. As Dwight wisely recommended, don't carry a grudge because someone ignored the first two principles. Forgiveness is the best option. The alternative only eats away at you and you only suffer more.

4. Everyone can have a bad day (including you) so cut them (and yourself) a bit of slack. We don't know what the other person is really going through.

5. Sometimes I am not as funny or as right as I would like to think I am. But it's no big deal if someone else says so. I will still offer my thoughts, help, opinions and jokes.

I hope this hasn't come across as too heavy or stodgy or condescending - just trying to help a bro who seems to be treading water.

Bedouin and I have been around the block on several issues. We are generally able to bury the hatchet and maintain a mutual respect. I appreciate his support on this subject. We did discuss it on PMs where I expressed remorse for doing it but felt it may slow you down a bit.

I could care less about a poll. Many on this board know me personally. They know I don't type anything I don't say in person. So stop being a punk by calling me one. I am no different in person.

Firstly it was not yelling you did but it was name calling and it was out of line. You do not have any authority over me or anyone else in this Forum. If you have an issue with something someone has typed you can let them know without resorting to that kind of behaviour. If it is ignored you could always go to Friar John as he does have the authority in here. This was the first time I ever found you to have any issue with me whatsever but you have obviously been brooding over it for some time.

As far as the new user was concerned he thought it was funny as he PMed me to say so. Of course you wouldn't know that and you have to be all rightious and take control. It was meant as humour and was received as humour but your interpretation of it was incorrect and you overreacted.

Point number two is a good one, "You are the best person to do it??? " You really do think you are better than everyone else here. The last part of it is much more accurate "I am just a general pain the ass."

I'm glad you and Bedoudin are good friends, good for you cause I dont reckon he would have many. It does not suprise me that you both colluded together as he has had an issue with me before some time ago and obviously has not let that go. personally I don't even remember what it was about.

I will no doubt be leaving this forum as a result of your petty behaviours regardless of the poll which I suppose is childish but a little entertaining. I find it unfortunate to do so as I have made alot of friends here but now that I am second guessing everything it no longer amusing to me. Steve just take a few deep breaths , relax and just let it go. There really is no need to leave but as I said before that is your choice but I see no need. If this is enough to make you go I should have left many times over but the who would be the thorn in Friars side? I have friends here and have butted heads with those same people but then it goes by and all is well again. It is just like out in the world when you have a disagreement with a friend you settle and get over it in most cases.Even if all that amounts to is each saying your piece and then agreeing to disagree. I have a friend who is very socialist politically we often disagree on politics but we are still friends at the end of the day.
