I got sick of the crome strap thing and wanted to do something more creative. I've been doing a bunch of litho-galv brass etching lately and thought I might go with the 1907 logo.

Very cool. So there was a plastic top cover over the battery huh. I wonder where mine went...
Cut it up.

Hey Stevo, if you scroll down this link a bit it has a bunch of pics of the bike and the bits I've made for it. The only other changes I've made since then is I've go with the black on grey Hagon shocks. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...part=3&vc=1

That is unique! You may want to offer those for sale here!, or not? But you would sell quiet a few. Maybe offer different scripts, from different years. (when you get time, do SOMETHING about that choke knob.)

I'd be more than happy to build them for other riders here. I figure for the time and materials $50 should be fair, and I'll make a few examples of the different scripts and post them up here.

$50 would be a bargain, it's okay to make a little money for yourself. I bet they would sell for at least $75.

Do you reckon you would be to etch something like the Bundy Bear on the bottlecaps on the end of my handlebars onto the battery cover?

That would be pretty easy. I'd just need to find a clean graphic to work with, which I'm pretty sure I can find on the internerd, and go from there. OK, I'll bump the price up to $65. So $65, your image or mine.

You've created quite a stir here and no wonder... you've got something quite unique that really stands out. I hereby officially place my order for one... graphic to follow. $65 is a bargain!!

Ok Dave, now, you want to send us the $15 your opinion just cost us?
Just kiddin' ,
But I will one-up you. If Triumph can get $85 for their bland, basic chrome covers, these should easily be worth OVER $100!

You got a deal going with Bob to raise some cash for a new ignitor? That would be $35 a pop to you... shouldn't take long to get your bike back on the road.

I agree that I could more than likely get more money for these things, but I, like the rest of us here I'm guessing, work for a living and I'd rather charge a fair price rather than profiteer off my fellow riders. It kills me when I see things going for astronomical fees simply because they say "Triumph" or "Harley" on them....You'll see the same part for a Kawi or Honda going for about half the price. I understand That "cool factor" comes with a price, I just don't feel right charging it. I'll step down now.

I understand exactly where you're coming from Bob, I just don't see a problem in making a few bucks extra for yourself if you can. Not everyone can or wants to make something like that, but would definitely pay good money to have one. It seems like a very VERY fair price at $65. I just don't think you should cut yourself short in the process of giving everyone else a super price on a very cool and unique piece.

I definitely, absolutely, positively want one! But I would like to see other possible versions of the Triumph logo. The old style is not really sending a thrill up my leg.

That's pretty much it. If I can print it from the computer I can etch it in brass.

OK, I am looking for a graphic now... The 65bucks is for the etched brass plate only (looks riveted to a brass battery holder) or with the whole thing altogether that clips in place? Hope you don't mind shipping to Asia! Will pay of course!

It's the whole package. It's an integrated strap/backplate with the cover plate riveted on. Just remove your existing strap and replace it with the cover.

Don't forget, when dealing with your typical HD lifestyle punter, if it aint vastly and grossly overpriced, it aint worth sh!t
BTW, I hope you're thinking about copyright/trademark laws before getting carried away, sorry put a downer on things
Another BTW, I will probably be after one in the new year

Here's a couple more I've made for some guys on the board. And I figure what the ****** with the copy right stuff. I'm selling hand crafted battery box covers, my customers supply the artwork. I doubt't that'd hold up in court, but it's good enough for my concious. Thanks for all the interest guys!
