In the 2006 America I use Castral 10w-50 oil. Many other riders use 20w-50. Which viscosity do you use? I change the oil every 8,000 miles and lube the chain every 800 miles with synthetic chain lube.

Amsoil motorcycle 20-50, Amsoil and mobil 1 are the 2 best out there.

Mobil 1 10-40. I have no idea why, maybe it was on sale, maybe it was all they had.

One thing everyone should watch is that the oil you use is wet clutch compatible. Those have friction modifiers in them so it works properly.
