Just wondering if the petcock in in the down position gas in on, petcock up reserve tank?
Please advise.

I read about a tip some where, maybe here, about if you get a pair of diagonal cutters and cut the top of the handle of the petcock, you can easily feel while your riding if the petcock is in the up or down position.

I can feel whether the valve handle is up or down...I just can't remember what up or down means!

If the handle is down but you can't see it, is it really there at all?
