The Speedmaster was over on its left side recently a story too embarassing to tell. The bike was being held up by the saddle bag and the foot pad which extended the range of motion of the piece beyond the limit and cracked the two flanges where the pin goes through. A liberal use of heavy duty tie wraps kept it in place and usable but the cost of new is outrageous as they are not being made any longer. $181 for just the cast plate today in 2018 I bought the complete set with hardware for $285 There are four tiny teflon bushings $14 @ piece, I think I will rig up something else like a plastic straw (if I can find one they are all paper now)

I'm having difficulty visualizing the specific issue, a pic might help, if only it wasn't such a challenge to post pics here.

I put the foot forward pegs back on to give them a try, after 14 years and two Speedmasters riding with foot pads it sure felt strange. I immediately ordered the replacement casting.

I personally have a strong preference for boards, on these bikes.
