I currently have a carbed 2008 "AmeriMaster" & a 2014 America LT The 2008 has Speedmaster forks & dual front brakes, custom fly fairing with full gauges (Tach, oil pressure & volt meter) The 2014 has a batwing fairing with built in GPS, oil pressure, oil temp and volt meter.

The ride may be fun, but in the Great Scheme of things, it really is about the destination! John 3:16

I still run my SM as my main bike and Wendy still runs her America. I am also building a hard tail with an 07 SM engine once my wrist heals and I get my truck and tractor done so I can have room in my shop to finish it. I will then run that one too.

I have a '14 LT that was my wife's. I'll sell it when I'm ready to let it go. That may take a while. I've only owned it for 3 weeks.

My 03 America has about 106K and is ridden about once a week these days.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

In rereading this thread, I realized I joined this forum 10 years ago this month but didn't own a Bonneville America until August of this year. My wife owned one, but didn't have the strength to ride it her last two years. It's mine, now.
Many of the people I have met from here don't have one any more.

I still have and still ride (once again) my 05 speedmaster. It is not quite a 790/865 anymore, but still air cooled and carburated!
I had a beautiful red 2012 speedmaster for a couple years but traded that in on a thruxton. Looking back I should have kept the 2012.
05 speedmaster - 1100cc, 11:1 racing pistons, Carillo rods, thunderbike cams, ported and polished head, 2mm over intake and exhaust valves, Barnett kevlar clutch, scepter pipes, oversize manifolds, 45mm HSR's, TTP stage 4 firestarter

I've been wondering the same thing for awhile -- how many of us are still TBA/Speedmaster riders...
I joined because I bought brand new 2004 America. Sold it years later, missed it, so I bought a 2010 America.
No plans to sell. Still puts a smile on my face

Still have my 09 America on the road. Showing it's age a bit, but then, so am I. Not riding as much with getting a little older and less tolerant of weather extremes but still riding.

I still have my 07 America. It just isn't legally rideable right now. When I got put in the ditch last year, the steering stop on the frame neck was bent over, which made the frame technically bad, so they totaled it. Yes, I can fix that in less than an hour with a torch but then there's all the hassle of a salvage title. So for now, she lives in the garage next to the new Speedmaster and gets run up every couple weekends to go up and down our cul-de-sac, until I can get a new frame and she'll be reincarnated as a custom - haven't finished deciding on the specifics, but it'll be something '70's style.

I've still got my 2007 America.I've just done a week's touring on it .It has never run better. My 2019 is more my "go to" bike these days , but for a nice long tour the America with it's bigger size and longer wheelbase is the ride!

I would buy them all day long at that price. That's what I used to do with the antiques, that's why I have 20 bikes.

Yep, I still have my '02 BA, also.
However over the years, I've "de-cruiserized" it, and so now it looks much more like a classic British roadster than it does an American cruiser.
And like Dave up there, I too have been putting many more miles on a later acquisition, my 2016 Indian Springfield which I purchased slightly used about two and a half years ago now. It's just so much more comfy than the BA is, and actually handles pretty damn well for an 800+ pound machine.
But I still hop on the BA occasionally, and whenever I do, I'm always reminded of why I've always loved this bike so much.
(...and I also still own that 1970 Triumph custom Street Tracker, if anyone remembers that one...it also is much too fun a ride to ever part with, me thinks)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I woke up thinking about this thread at 0300 today and thought about how I'd been neglecting the America. Wisely, I went back to sleep, but then at a more respectable hour, I went out and washed, waxed, polished chrome and changed the oil. Drove out and topped off the tank and tires and felt pretty darn good. Even got a compliment from another customer. Then ten miles into my victory ride, it started raining.
Back to the garage...
Times like this, I remember why I've been riding my BIG Ruckus more. Low maintenance - not a speck of chrome.

I have a great 06 TBA, 118,000 miles on her, I still ride almost daily after work, now that I am home at 4:30, since the pandemic I've been working from home since 3/23/20. I saw on one tread that someone has 164,000 miles. My goal get to 200,000. Regular oil changes, full synthetic, 7,500, maintenance when it should be done, not when it needs to be done.

That is impressive. Kudos to Jon. My 2010 turned over 20,000 this summer. Because of age and health I don't ride as much or as far as I used to; but I enjoy it every bit as much, maybe more. I hope the 865 bikes have the reliability of the 790s. I'm hoping to hang on to my BA for a long time.
