AFTER INSTALLING THE BARNETT RED SPRINGS AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ADJUST THE LIFTER PUSH ROD AND LIFTER PLATE, THE BOLT FLANGES BROKE. THE RED SPINGS ARE RATED AT 100 LBS. IF YOU GUYS ARE PLANNING TO UPGRADE TO THE RED SPRINGS, BE CAREFULL IF YOU USE THE CENTERING/ADJUSTMENT TOOL #T3880014 [image]http://  [/image]
1200CC BIG BORE, W/WISECO PISTONS,.250 STROKED CRANK, PORTED/POLISHED HEADS AND LARGER VALVES, CUSTOM WELDED EXHUAST, DUAL 42MM MIKUNI CARBS.

I've been running the red clutch springs in mine for years now with no side effects. Except that my dickbeaters are strong

THE RED SPRINGS ARE FINE. IT'S THE ADJUSTMENT/CENTERING TOOL THAT LEAVES THE TWO UNSUPPORTED TABS UNDER PRESSURE
1200CC BIG BORE, W/WISECO PISTONS,.250 STROKED CRANK, PORTED/POLISHED HEADS AND LARGER VALVES, CUSTOM WELDED EXHUAST, DUAL 42MM MIKUNI CARBS.

If it makes you feel any better it also happened to me with the green springs...& that effing tool...IMO the Triumph clutch tool SUCKS!!!

OH NO, NO. I'M NOT SPENDING $90-100. AS SOME OF YOU KNOW, I'M A MACHINIST, MECHANIC, AND WELDER(WENT TO SCHOOL FOR ALL THREE), AND HAVE MY OWN EQUIPMENT. I ORDERED SOME 3/4" STEEL PLATE FROM SPEEDY METALS AND A 16003 BEARING FROM VBX. WHEN IT GETS HERE, I'M GOING TO CUT AND MILL A NEW LIFTER PLATE. GOES TO SHOW THAT TRIUMPH NEVER PUT THOUGHT INTO THEIR STURDY AND RELIABLE ENGINES MAY BE USED AS A RACING ENGINE OR HEAVILY MODIFIED BY THE OWNERS. THAT'S WHY HD, VICTORY AND SOON INDIAN HAVE SUCH A STRONG AFTERMARKET/PERFORMANCE PARTS PROGRAM

I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A FEW OF THEM. AFTER I FINISH BUILDING THIS ENGINE, I HAVE A CHEVY LS MOTOR I WANTED TO GET STARTED ON......... I SHOULD HAVE STAYED WORKING. I'M WORKING LONGER/HARDER ON MY HOBBIES SINCE I RETIRED, THAN WHEN I WAS WORKING FULL TIME
