Is it always the same cylinder cutting out? Does it only happen when the engine is hot? Have you checked the wiring for corrosion at the coils?

Could be spark plug wires, ignition coils, or the cdi.You first need to determine which cylinder is cutting out. Once you have done that you can swap coils and wires around to see if the cut out follows the coil/plug wire. If it doesn't then it is most likely the cdi.

I have a 2014 AmericaLT I go to leave and it hesitates on acceleration and then it stalls, I put her in the shop they sync the throttle bodies and said its the nature of that engine. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Please HELP Thanks

Richard

Nature of the engine? That's a weak mechanic dodge of responsibility, if I ever heard one. The FI models can be tuned to run as good as any out there. I would start with contacting member/vendor Pieman with a PM.

Welcome to BA.com. First you should have started your own post/thread. You didn't really state where on your RPM that this happens I'm assuming off idle. I have a carb model but I read somewhere on here that if you turn up the idle a little it helps.

Richard, You also didn't state the condition of the bike, was it sitting for a while? Pour some Sea Foam in the tank for a few tankfuls to see if it will clean its self out.

Richard, while that was a lazy response from a mechanic, he may have been kinda right. That is if the trouble you are having is the motor cutting off as you gently take off from a stop. Several of us with the EFI models have experienced such a situation from time to time. Like trying to smoothly and slowly take off from an intersection and it just quits as the clutch is released.
If so, there are few things you can do. As mentioned , the idle should be set just above 1,000 RPM. 1,100 or there abouts. Throttle body sync can have effect here and should be verified/balanced as it is often a bit off for many of us when it's checked for the first time. And then, you may need to adjust your riding behavior a bit. Start taking off like you have a purpose. Not like a hooligan but like you want to clear the intersection or are actually going some where and not hanging around. Some have indicated that removal of the SAI plumbing can also contribute but I'm not so sure about it.
You don't say what if any mods or changes from stock. Still running the stock mufflers or after market mufflers and corresponding fuel map?

Do these three things.
Make sure the Map senor tubes are firmly pushed on at the sensor and the Throttle Bodies.
Run a lower grade fuel, 87 octane
Increase the idle speed by around 500rpm
I would recommend the Dealer Tool, http://dealertoolcouk.ipage.com/
And a service manual.
Go to bikebandit.com to see the map sensor locations etc. if you do not have a service manual.

We all started somewhere. You are not the first to wonder about how to get a discussion started
After you have selected a specific form to view (and have the threads listed in the "subject" column), you will have the forum/sub forum listed just above the subject area. Look further to the right for "Post" "Previous" "Index" "Next" "Expand".
Select the Post button and you can start your own thread.

I was recently having same issues. I took my 05 in for carb rebuild and they suggested new wires. I could feel it hick cup after I left but no where near what it was doing. Ill update after I get my Nology coils and wires. Hope the CDI is good! I will need to prep my CDI for lots of wet weather though. gotta find that topic somewhere in the past post.

Silicone seal the back side of the CDI. I bought some soft rubber sheet and Gorilliaz Glued it on the back. Hopefully it will slow down vibration input as well. But waterproofing was the goal, don't forget to put silicone deox jelly in every wire plug and connect you can, including the spark wires, both ends. I made it through a flash flood in the desert a few years back without a stutter, and yes I prepped for it.

My bike was having problems running correctly. Stalling, weak acceleration and backfires. After trying everything else replacing the sparkplug wires did the trick. Of course the bike was thirteen years old and had 94,000 miles on it. 5,000 miles and 3 months later it's still running fine. Of course I have a bunch of extra ignition parts laying around now.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
