Just got myself a new jacket!
Was looking online for a while. I don't like a flashy jacket with big logos and extra trimmings. I like simple.
I saw the Icon Oildale and thought it looked nice. Unfortunately, not available in Taiwan.
Since I'm in Canada, went to a store. They had one left! But there was a hole on the left sleeve, so they gave me 30% off. Good deal, since I just had to put a small patch under and it's pretty much fixed.
Good feel, good fit, heavy cotton, I like the 3DO protection, streamlined and not bulky. The "waxed" cotton will be much better in Taiwan, as it is so humid all the time, my last leather jacket was a mold factory!
Can't wait to try it on the bike, but that will have to wait until I get back... A tad white and cold around here now! In about 3 weeks, I think we had 3 days it wasn't below -20ish C.
Mother Nature telling me to stay and retire in south east Asia!

You didn't exactly pick the best time to come home, my man. But if you were from BC you might be thinking... hey, it's warm enough for an mid-day ride after a morning ski in the alpine. Hmmmm, think I'll stick around 'cause THIS IS GOD'S COUNTRY!!

Indeed!
Crossing my fingers right now... My luggage, with my jacket within, is somewhere, but the airline company isn't sure where exactly.
I hope I didn't buy a nice jacket for someone else to enjoy!

They did arrive!
The problem was in Hong Kong. We had over 7 hours waiting for our next flight, when the nice clerk at China Airlines moved us to an earlier flight instead. Even after keying in all the info for about 15 minutes, our bags still took the later flight and arrive past midnight.
They called us as soon as they saw our bags, and since we were sleeping in the area, it was easy to pick our luggage.

Hotel, 5 min away... But completely whacked. After 27 hours spent in airplanes and airports. Needed to relax.

I think you confuse with Thailand.... Here in Taiwan, we have foot massages. Believe me, there's nothing "happy" about them... Here's a typical reaction (not me) when they start working your feet...
