They are a beast to behold. Just don't try to pick it up by yourself if you lay it down.

... And so with no intention of leaving this site, wish me well on the new Rocket.
Wishing you well! Congrats on the new ride. Might consider buying stock in the tire company you'll be using.

Super cool Gregger, those Roadsters are a blast to ride. Triumph finally got the seating/ peg position right. IMO

There are many 'firsts' in life, which leave an indelible impression. The first time piloting the Rocket3, is certainly one for me.
Congrats, G!

Thanks fellows, If you ever get a chance to take a Rocket for a ride, do it. As Mike said, it leaves a real impression which was for me laughing out loud... ...on the highway. I really did! This thing has more torque at idle than my America had at max power. The bike is relatively easy to ride, is relatively quick in the twisties....(the America is better), likes gas stations (but the big tank more than makes up for it) and did I say blasts off like a Rocket. If you punch this ride anywhere in 1st, you WILL lay a patch of rubber until you back off. If you hold it and shift into 2nd, it will continue with the strip. At least 1 rear tire a summer or a week depending on your level of insanity. Guess I'll order my spare now. Love the riding position. At first I thought the rear set pegs would be restrictive so I ordered highway bars and pegs but I actually prefer riding with my feet under me. Excellent control.

a buddy of mine has an '11 roadster. I have ridden it a number of times, very impressive. I was especially surprised at the handling the first time out. Now that he has had the bike a couple years the mods have started. Last fall I used tuneECU to set the secondary throttle plates to 100% in the first 3 gears. talk about pull your arms off! he is doing the K&N pods and Jardine exhaust this summer and a custom tune of course. Apparently more power is needed

I purchased the cable and will be down loading Tune ECU to see what maps been loaded. I asked the shop to install the 2014 tune when they installed the TORs. The salesman stated the latest map recommended by Triumph for the serial number was installed which is probably the 2012 with TORs, not the 2014. Apparently all you have to do is paste the 4th gear map over the ones for the first 3 gears to open them up. Not the same as playing with carbs..... but I'll get the hang of it.
