I'm down for the season. bummer. cut down a tree and it fell across my lower leg (long story) and Friday I had surgery with the usual screws and awful pain. I'm in a drug induced fog. Have no insurance, so I had to pony up the full 9K before they would do it.
Dumb accident, have cut thousands of trees precisely (I'm a certified arborist) and this one gets me. So now I get to tinker on Lola (when I can bear to stand)

Cut a lot of trees myself. Trees can be wicked unpredictable. It happens, but I'm sorry for the luck, and in your case, just dumb, stinking bad luck. Hope you get better soon!

Sorry to hear that Wade. I'm lucky I am not with you or worse. I cut a huge pine tree down in front of my house and , like you, I have cut many many trees down precisely. I got lazy and didn't put any ropes on this one and the top of this one had broken and was laying over. Well that top hadn't broken all the way off and caught in the tree next to it causing the tree to swing in an arc and land on the power lines. I did the most stupid thing anyone can do, I stood under the tree the direction it was going , pushing on it , trying to make it fall the way I wanted! I stepped out of the way but so many things could have gone wrong and injured or killed me. I then dragged it off the lines with my truck. It was still pretty vertical when it caught the lines so no damage except a couple zip ties.

Hope you heal quickly.

Dang Wade I missed this earlier post. Sorry to here about your misfortune. Hoping for a speedy and full recovery.
As it's been stated on many occasions here, we are family and friends if you need anything please speak up, even if it's just someone to mow the grass.
Or ride your motorsickle, I can do that

Sorry to hear about the injuries (financial and physical). I hope you find a positive side to the experience and/or recovery time. Maybe you'll invent something or write a novel?

Cheers, Richard

Popped real loud? You shouldn't need more money. Treat it like warranty and they installed something wrong.
