I have a 2007 Boneville America...Ran fine last year...I bought a new battery (YUASA) a few weeks ago..The dealer charged it up for me...put it in bike..but does not turn over...Tried jumping it with a car battery as well and nothing...Just hear a clicking sound whenever I press starter button...Clicking sounds like it is from under the tank...Check fuses and they looked ok...Any ideas what I should check for?..Please advise....Thanks...

The relay under the tank, there are two. Replace the one that isn't your turn signal actuator. Any relay with the spades in the same order will work, I paid $1.89 plus tax for the last one I needed. Got it from an Electronics supply store. Even if that isn't the problem, it isn't a bad idea to carry a spare. I have been stranded twice over this one simple thing.

Also where is starter located on 2007 America? Any advice is appreciated..Thanks...

Under the clutch cover, towards the front. There will be oil to deal with and you will at a minimum need a new cover gasket as Triumph uses just enough adhesive to make saving the darn thing near impossible. Don't lose the wavy washer or forget to put it back on for re assembly. Get it apart and report back to us if you need to, with what you got going on.

Check all your wire connections to your starter even the ground!

Do not remove the clutch cover yet or pull the starter. Before you do anything, remove the plastic side cover on the right under your seat. You will see the starter solenoid - this is what the starter relay powers up. With the bike in neutral, try placing a screwdriver across the two main leads on the solenoid. If the bike turns over, the starter is good (rarely is the starter the problem) along with the starter gear train. You should then check to see if power is going to the solenoid you just jumpered.

I just logged on because I realised what a brain fart I had, by not suggesting jumping the solenoid poles. Since he's getting a click and no spin, perhaps a battery load test would rule out another possible cause too.

after I located the starter solenoid (the previous owner had relocated it)..I discovered that one of the clip in wires was not secure..Pushed it back on and the bike runs fine..Thank to all for the helpful hints...See you down the road...Wayne

Mine is doing the same thing at 66,000 miles....I was riding into work when a redlight caught me. I held the clutch in as usual, and the bike just quit. Tried to start, but nothing. Put in neutral released clutch, and it started, but no headlight. Drove on into work with no headlight, switched key switch off, back on, and nothing...no headlight, starter or anything...I DO have instrument lights and neutral indicator light, and the same single "click" from underneath the tank when I push the starter button....HELP! Guess wife is coming after me tomorrow when I get off work....AARRGGHH...(Problems coming regularly now with this bike)....

Found fuse #9 blown, a 10 amp that controls the headlight, and apparently the muscle voltage for the starter relay somehow, but don't see it in the diagram. Swapped out fuse, everything normal now...Just wondering what blew fuse?!?

I would check the wires running into the headlight bucket. The wires get chaffed where they enter.
