the Apple pads / tablets... have no USB...
This 'was' a mac vs pc laptop thread, and just for your information (because you brought it up) the Ipad DOES have a USB port feature. Look into a pad specific thread here.
May THIS thread RIP.
It doesn't have the actual USB port, it just has a "feature".

After watching that Monty Python video I have to say... PCs ARE BETTER!
Live to love, love to live.

So, Macs are not vulnerable.... Wow, what should I do Run and hide? The end of the world is coming? That's what it sounds like when I read articles like this that pop up once every 3 months or so....
What's the alternative?
Going to Windows? Not my taste (just had to deal with a W7 laptop and I couldn't do any work because I was busy clicking on all those windows popping all the time, telling me or warning me about some possibility of ....) Sorry, I've been a Mac user for so long, I just can't get accustomed to Windows behavior...
Linux, yep, they are now the ones saying they are clean.... but as much as I like Open Source, I still feel it has an unpolished finish...
Amiga might be the next Apple... they are coming back with their own take on the computer thing... The Commodore 64 was my first computer, and I might look into Amiga again carefully. But, just like Apple, they are going after the "Premium" class.
So, for now, I'll stick with my Mac and live with the fact that it is becoming more and more popular, so hackers and other bad boys and girls are thinking about targeting it too.

AROS is open source now. Amiga is over.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Well, it did surge from it's usual 5% market share to a 5.2% market share in 2011.

That was funny. It's also funny that we're on a web site based on branding arguing about branding.

Because of my job I have been provided with both Windows and Apple computers since 1995. I have enjoyed the competition. The PowerMacs were fun but so desperately limited because of their proprietary nature. Windows 3.X was great but inherently unstable. Win95 was a big improvement but Apple was still a tiny fraction ahead in stability but, again, their proprietary approach crippled them. Ever since then Apple has been stumbling to keep up. They will bring out widgits (iPods) to make them relevant but when they went to Intel to make their processors it became obvious that it was just a matter of which tweaks you preferred. The CPUs are the same. Nintey five percent of the world has made that decision. I'm not buying a Delorean to prove them wrong.
