Time to go to the REAL pro's, the ones who know! I'm ready to purchase a new Procom CDI. They ALL say to be sure it has a part number that all start with T129 - - - - . I can't find this part number, and the old unit is in my hand! All I have is "S/No: 04470209" There is another paper sticker on the front side, just above the female plug in, but it's blank! (faded away?) Bike Bandit doesn't have a seven (7) digit number that is proceeded by a "T", and my $85 factory manual tells me NOTHING!!! I have a 790 "05. Anybody?

the seven digit # proceeded by a T should be on your old CDI. Heres what the Procom website states:
Before you make a purchase, please make sure that your bike stock CDI P/N is in our list below:
T1290041 T1292365 T1292950 T1291100 T1291150 T1292370 T1292060 T1292960 T1292375
So.... if your CDI doesn't have one of the above numbers on it then the Procom CDI may not be compatible.

I think the problem is that the seven digit number that begins with a "T" is probably on that sticker on the front, just above the female plug. Mine is faded, it's blank. Is this where ya'll's T number is? I can't figure how ANY of them could be different, as long as it's for a 790!? I asked the seller, but I may need to contact Procom directly. meanwhile, THE DAYS ARE PASSING BY!

Here's a pic. The number on the top left is the afore mentioned serial number. the sticker on the right, just above the female plug, is blank (or faded). Is THAT where ya'll are finding your numbers that begin with T129 - - - - ???

Call Procom. I could barely read it on my 865 Speedmaster, but I found it. My works pretty good that I got from them.

Don't worry about it man.. it will work on your machine. Mine works on several different settings so order up, plug it up and find the setting that works best for you. Procom thread

Yep, no 'T' but the number on my original blown unit is 129060 (on a 2004 America). You should be good to go anyway, how different could our 790 engines be?

Good luck man all I can say is, Keep pluging at it and you will figure it out.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Why not just call your Triumph dealer with the bike's year and VIN#. They'll probably be able to look it up on their computer.

Thanks! Since I don't buy products or service from a Triumph dealer, I didn't know that that's how they do their ordering. I gave them my last six vin numbers and the motor number, and they gave me the part number I needed. And yes, It IS on the list! I'll be ordering it in a week or so. Thanks.
