Good visit with my Dad this morning; he opened his eyes! It was a struggle, but he did it if only for a moment! We're getting there folks!

Hang in there Jim. I remember 5 1/2 years ago when my dad was in ICU for 7 weeks after he fell in his apartment and was found by church friends after 3 days. I would sit day after day with him being in medicated coma w/o being able to help him. He opened his eyes one day when the nurse was bathing him and tried to kick me out. It was the first time I had seen him open his eyes and I was upset with her. Many of the Drs said he was tough and that sounds just like Larry. He is tough and it isn't his time. The healing might be slow and it may drive you crazy not being able to help but he will be back in his own time. I can feel it. Thank God he has you and his family to support him.

At this point I'm sure this ordeal seems to go on forever. It's still early and I believe Larry will pull through this. Looking forward to the day I get to see that devilish grin of his again. Thumbs up Jim, everyone is pulling for your dad and your family.

Nothing new to report the last few days.. In fact we're kinda in a holding pattern. He's being treated for the infection and there's been a slight heart problem the Doc's are successfully addressing. Will post more as it comes but for now, I guess no news is good news.

Thanks again everyone! Keep the faith!!

Continued prays for Larry and his family.

The Wife and I went for a short ride yesterday, and as I was riding along I remembered that I bought my floor Boards from Larry back in May of 07. Which made me think of how I have interacted with, and been blessed in knowing so many people (like Larry) because of this Forum.

Omnipotent and eternal God, the everlasting Salvation of those who believe, hear us on behalf of Thy sick servant, Larry, for whom we beg the aid of Thy pitying mercy, that, with his bodily health restored, he may give thanks to Thee in Thy church. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I don't know Larry Sheppard but I know what it's like to endure recovery of a crash. His injuries are worse than those I sustained but because I went through it I think about him and his family all the time and like you others check the site several times daily just to see if there is some news. I hope and pray with all earnesty that he will recover and be rejoined with his family and friends very soon. And that one day I'll get to actually make that Georgia rally and meet Larry and some of you guys personally. God is able to restore Larry if He wills it therefore, I am touching and agreeing with all who call on the LORD on his behalf. My thoughts are ever with Larry and his family, especially Jim who was there when it happened, and continue to be with you throughout this process. God Bless you Sheppard family.

There's not much to post unfortunately. Larry fought hard but it looks as though He may not make it. It has been a difficult walk for us and we greatly appreciate the prayers, positive thoughts, concern and love. Like you, we check this forum multiple times because we gain strength from you all. For days now, we have not known what to pray but have been asking the Holy Spirit to groan for us. If there are changes, we will certainly let you know. Thanks again for all your love.

Well...it's a new day....Jim and I are totally exhausted.....we left the hospital earlier and low and behold Larry looked better......remember....we are no where near being out of the woods......however, the dr. did tell us not to give up on hope just yet.....we took that as encouragement. I have never been on such an emotional roller coaster. Please keep doing whatever it is that you are doing for he has sustained 19 days of critical condition in ICU.
