When I put my left signal on I get a "buzzzzz" (haha)...SERIOUSLY...it sounds like I answered a question wrong on a game show.
I assume the flasher's bad because it comes from under the tank and the light doesnt blink?
Is this gonna be a problem if I ride today? Do you think it will drain the battery or anything when the ignitions shut off? I just dont wanna tow it in the middle of this awesome day to ride
THANKS TO ALL

Does it only do it with the left signal? We only have one turn signal relay on our bikes. But, you should be able to pick up a new turn signal relay at any auto parts store.
But, other than annoying, you should be safe to ride.

Just swap it out, you can probably find one at any auto parts store. It should have all the info right on it that is needed to replace it. Relays are pretty simple and easily swapped.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I'm thinking something's changed in the left circuit like a burnt out bulb or even a short. You said one bulb is LED but what about the other one... is it LED too? And yes... LEDs don't last forever.
Ride and use hand signals for now.
Live to love, love to live.

yeah they both are LED...Anyone got those little bullet LED signals?....do you replace the bulb or just throw them out?..haha...I see a screw (a hard to get to screw)...I just never seen an LED replacement, just the ones that screw into a normal bulb socket.
anyway, ride was great no problems except trying to remember not to use the signals. I didnt wanna keep turning it on but it was hard.

Turn signals have become useless these days, cause everyone, including the police are too busy texting and talking on their cell phones to notice them anyway. You just need to fix the problem before you get your 'safety inspection' next year.

Its still the relay. Just because there is only one don't mean much because there is a dedicated left and right side in the single caseing. So ride using hand signals ( still legal nearly everywhere), and go get the relay its like $12.

OH and TED, NJ doesnt have inspections anymore..haha Well they do technically...they are performed by the police themselves on a convienent location on the side of the road.

Might be high at BB but they're cheap at O'Reilly and other auto parts stores. It's just a basic 12v relay. Once you get one take a close look at the pin numbers and make sure they match the old relay or there's going to be a second step: I re-pinned my socket to suit a different brand relay using a jeweler's screw driver to release the socket "pins".

bikebandit has two things listed:
-relay changeover - $12
-indicator relay - $70
I'm assuming its the indicator relay, anyone know what the changeover is/does?
I'm definatelly gonna have to look at that bulb first just for the process of elimination.

Sometimes with relays you can get a buzz sound when the contactor isn't latching properly, so its constantly pulling in and out causing the noise. With yours working fine on the right but not on the left, I suggest checking all the connections on the left circuit before spending any money on either a new relay or bulb.
Might just be a dodgy earth connection or something, or possibly the switch itself

Is this the kind of safety inspection where you are standing on one leg, with your finger on your nose, reciting the alphabet backwards?

Nah, In NJ they stopped inspecting bikes. So now when you get pulled over for something the TRUE inspection begins.
