Yes they did... much, I say MUCH to the dismay of Canuck fans. But I must admit... the Bruins totally outscored the Canucks and in the end proved to be the better team. Congratulations! Now... let's get on with summer!!

I didn't have a dog in the hunt, but grew to dislike the Canucks play, and Roberto Luongo. (What time is it in Vancouver? 21 past Luongo....<g>) So, I was glad to see the Bruins pull it off, mostly for Tim Thomas who seems like a good guy. I had predicted a Bruins win, but 1-0 was the way I thought it would go. On the other hand I'm still in a daze after the Capitals collapse....

The game is not a place to show your ignorance, its just a game. The beating the Canucks --------proved to be a bunch of poor losers, all ready-- after the game...showing their ass like they did.boston didn't beat anybody important after all the violence subsided, just a bunch of backyard "hooligans"

Bettenhousens trophy presentations were a little rough from the crowd, but I'm betting if the home team loses Game 7, it always goes that way. Quote:

I don't get the whole purpose of the riot crap win or lose! If you lose deal with it! Take it on the chin and come back next year. As a New England sports fan I've seen my teams lose more than win until the 2000's. A couple beers, a week or 2 of sports detox and I'm good to go again. That said... WOO HOO!

You know, since the same thing (riots) happened when Vancouver lost to the Rangers in the mid 90's, it make me hope they don't ever get the Stanley Cup.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Dirty playing from the team and rioting from the fans... I hate to admit it but it's all pretty disgraceful.
I flash back to the story of our own hometown team winning the World Ice Hockey Championship in 1939 then again in 1961. I recently attended a 50 year anniversary celebration where we watched archival footage of the winning game in '61. There was no dirty playing then and the boys behaved like the true heroes they were and are! Something to be proud off... can't really say that about the Canucks.
Live to love, love to live.

Half of the Bruins are Canadians any way, it's just a game... if only world politics can be solved by playing a game of hockey, football or baseball then I can see a riot or two.

I was hoping Vancouver would win (just because there on the west coast, not so much about being a fan, actually I hardly pay attention to hockey), but knew it was over as soon as the Bruins scored that first goal.

We had a gathering of friends to watch I complained about the entertainment. Leaving after the game to arrive home to watch all the proud Bruins with their families ( nice touch ) hoisting the cup and feeling the excitement of victory. Then it cut to the streets and we watched in disbelief as to the actions of the hooligans and the idiots vidioing themselves. After the Olympics this was not a proud moment. Anyone hear about that new book about flogging vs jail? or maybe they could have turned the fire hoses on that red bearded guy disgracing the Canucks sweater.

At the end of the match, I thought the crowd inside was pretty classy - they were cheering for the Bruins on their fantastic win, and also cheering for their team on making it to the Stanley Cup. The crowd outside was a whole other story, and definitely there were some classless folks out there.

1939 team... Holy cow-how old are you Keith???!!! You know I was pulling for the canucks but Boston out coach and out played them. Luongo was Boston's MVP! Tim Thomas seems like a cool guy that's always happy. Good for him that they won. Didn't like the cheap hits in this series but it's hockey! Hope you got a tv out of the riots and looting, Keith, that way next year we can talk more about the games. Ok boys, get on your bikes and ride

AND 1961! Geeze, talk about your selective hearing (reading)! As for a TV, yeah I did get a window display model but then it got destroyed when they flipped my car over and torched it.

Maple leafs have not won the Stanley cup since 1967 Canada's 100th birthday but if you want to visit with Lord Stanley's cup that is where you have to go.

I have a buddy from Upstate NY. He and his wife are huge Buffalo fans Sabres and Bills. They got my son saying "Let's go Buffalo" when he was around 3 or so and didn't know any better. My son is now 6 and still chants "Let's go Buffalo" occasionally to try and get my dander up.
Guess who one of the first people I e-mailed was when the B's won!

A Canadian co-worker sent me this today: One of my Canadian coworkers sent me this message today and this picture: OK..OK..so a few of my countrymen lost it after losing to the Bruins last night. The post investigation seems to be pointing to an organized group who came to riot equipped with clubs, gasoline, and gas masks..it may have been a planned riot win or lose. As Canadian I am ashamed for what happened, I apologize to my Boston/NE friends and congratulate them for a hard won victory. I am attaching a pic of two of my fellow Canadians in the classic riot clutch as I was taught by my forefathers.

Kind of sad to finish off the cup final that way; there are pro rioters just waiting for any "event" to cause ruckus.. by the way, the Seattle Metropolitans won the Cup in 1917..still waiting for the second one..oh yeah, we're minor league now.
