My bike's been parked too long with all the rain we've been getting. It's clean though... and in neutral.

Always park facing uphill, then neutral, gas, switch.. my left hand just goes to those automagically. Never used the kill switch. I have had to shove bikes backwards uphill, hence the up-facing parking.. lots easier to coast down. If it's steep enough to slide back against the kickstand I find a better place to park.

Neutral. Easier to start and I like to pre-warm. I can get geared up while the bike is warming and don't have to be on it.

Do you leave your bike in neutral or in gear when you park it? I always leave mine in gear and his is usually in neutral unless on a hill.

In gear.

I always park everything in low gear except cars that don't have a proper gearbox go in park. The only time I park in neutral is when I need to because I am going to work on it. It helps ensure that the bike is where it belongs next time you go to ride it. Even living here where it is so flat you can watch your dog run away for three days I always park in gear.

Always in gear (as with a handbrake).
In fact I use the stand as a kill switch (in gear).
It's a routine I have followed (on the bikes that have the kill feature when in gear and sidestand is extended) over the years - it always ensures I put out the stand.

The MSF beginner mc course teaches you to put the bike in gear when it is parked(so my son says). Mostly that's what I do.

I usually leave the bike in neutral on level ground unless it's on a ferry.

And you could contribute something positive for a change, but the jury is still out on both subjects.

Ok, you win something positive and constructive about parking a bike. My friend parked his bike and left the key on, he killed the motor with the switch. He was lucky he didn't get it stolen, but when we came back his battery was dead.

I didn't realize it started in the military but I'm not surprised. I've only ever heard bikers use it.

FNG is the official title of the newbs on a traditional hot rod forum I'm a member of. Until 50 posts or something like that.
But yeah, it's a military term, and it sucks being the FNG there.

This one is very easy to use.

Don't know why I'm a FNG.
