Got run onto the shoulder of the road going over a bridge by a road tractor. He never saw me because he was on the phone. Scared the **** out of me. I was halfway past him when he changed into my lane. He didn't hear my horn OR my SS pipes, as I grabbed a handful and down shifted.  I waved a finger at him and kept going.

Whats a road tractor? We have farmers surrounding the area here in Central Calif, and they just love to use the local rural roads to move their field tractors and implements from field to field.

A road Tractor sounds like an immovable object when hit with a motorcycle.

Yea whats a Road tractor?? I'm thinking about Farmer Joe out there riding his old John Deere just hoping to make a living selling grain!!

Good to hear you're OK.. I learned a long time ago to ride like I was INVISIBLE.. Sometime it even helps.
I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

I was having a brain freeze thinking of the road tractor/a while back a tractor and trailer rig on Hwy 99 forced me into the center isle as I passed him, he decided to pass another rig. Just have to be on alert, all the time.

Glad to hear your ok. You gotta watch em. I had one try to run me over in my truck (f250 with welding equipment on in.... not easy to over look) he was all over the road talking on the damned cell phone. I don't think its legal anywhere to drive a tractor and talk on the phone..............laws don't matter much anyway.

I always try to think they can't see me. The odd part was I had been gainig on him for some time. When I got near him i accelerated slightly because I don't like to ride beside them for any length of time. When I got halfway past he just changed lanes.
It's one of those times when I am glad I was really thinking about what to do if it happened when it DID happen.

some people cant walk and chew gum at the same time and those people shouldnt be talking on the phone while driving. i expect more from a truck driver!!! these are the guys that used to be the safest to be around, now it seems like anybody who has nothing better to do is driving a big rig

Yeah, I gotta admit I TOO was a little confused when Clay said a "Road Tractor" almost ran him off the road because its operator was on his cellphone.  (...'cause I was tryin' like hell to remember the last time I saw a guy on a Harley usin' one of those things while he was ridin' down the road!)
