Tail Fins and Chrome features: Cars of Dreams

Was sent this link to the Cars of Dreams “ museum “ . It is only open a few times a year which I find real strange and a real waste. To have all these cars in one location I would think it would get lots of visitors. Has anyone been or heard of it . Have been wondering where he got all his money to fund such a place and not need to make money out of it. By the sound of it he has been collecting for all his life on and off . What a 1st car he had. Maybe one day it will end up as a “Barn Find”

Yeah. He said that the current collection took about 10 years.
10 Years??
WTF? I couldn't afford to pay for one of those things in 10 years.
Some nice motors there.

I'll bet moe or newt, or another of our Florida Contingent down there have been to that museum, Geoff.

And, thanks for posting this very cool video!

(...hmmmm...I wonder if this guy was who spent $170,000 to get that beautiful black Hemi-powered '57 De Soto Adventurer Convertible that I fell in love with last week at the Barrett-Jackson Auction???)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Impressive collection, but I think he might have got a little assistance from the family business (as in Colombo family).

I'll disappear and change my name now...

Whilst I wholly agree about living in the States I must admit I disagree on the cars.

I think the Germans and Italians have been cornering that market for quite some time and the odd little contribution from Jaguar and Aston Martin.

But it was an awesome collection, amazing bodywork and the presentation of the place was unbelievable.

I wonder what the monthly outlay on polish is?

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

"More than 300 guests enjoyed a magical “Wheels of Dreams” evening at John and Jeanette Staluppi’s fabulous Cars of Dreams Museum in North Palm Beach March 30th. Amid a wonderland of classic cars, Darrell, “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, and NHRA personality Bob Frey took everyone on an entertaining “Behind the Scenes” look at the world of cars and racing and the camaraderie it engenders."

With my childhood hero Don Garlits as a tour guide. I could do that tour. I didn't just hero worship Garlits - I wanted to BE Garlits, stompin' that throttle down, launching the steering gear skyward, while lightin' up that blower until it pops right off the mill. Heh heh heh. Phew-wee! Any old farts remember the name of Garlits' dragster?

Interesting guy
