I think the site would benefit from a photo gallery. I know there are a million post on bobbed fenders for instance. So how bout a photogallery where you can see the pics. Etc etc

At most I think we'd just be willing to add a "sticky post" to the customs forum for bobbed fenders (and/or other themes). We don't want to start adding forums willy nilly.
Ideally, someday, we'll have a photopost type gallery module for such a thing.

There is a lot of information or links to information in the Tech Vault. Actually hosting a copy of the service manual here is probably copyright infringement and not a good idea. But it does exist electronically and there are several members that could probably send you a copy.

That's a great idea. I'm not sure if it happens to anyone else but the "search function" is hit or miss at best, for me anyway.

This is an idea. in the classified section after something is confirmed as sold removing the post, but add a section for transaction rating. So some one could say hey I bought the doodad from Joe and I got it in good order, and am happy with said doodad. Or Joe you scmuck this thing is not a doodad its thingamoebob, and a tangled up mess to boot. Or some kind of thing like that. Maybe its a good idea maybe not.

You can add your comments about the sale/transaction already. Most guys/gals post if their item is sold and there is now the 30 day purge.

Regardless, there's no way to implement that.
What you're talking about is reputation management. There might be some sort of plugin for the forum software that does it but it wouldn't be limited to classified ad transactions. And with such a small tight knit community I foresee it causing more problems than it would solve.
I mean, really, what problem are we trying to solve here?

I believe we have already got something better. If you feel you got ripped off, just start a thread about it, or hi-jack the next one they start to sell something

I just tought it would be interesting to to be able to see the transactions of those dealing on here. You could bolster those who do well, and easlily see those who don't. I thought it may add to the trading fun on here. I was a little tipsy last night, and may have not been as clear as I thought

I still think out would do more harm than good. As soon as someone got a bad rating the sh!t would hit the fan.

I agree with John. I think transactions between members here go wrong very few times. I have had nothing but good dealings with members here except that 1 vendor. In many cases we trade or donate things when a member is in need too.I remember a certain member couldn't make payments on his bike and was going to lose it and members took a collection and he was able to keep his bike. Haven't heard from him in a while now so not sure if he is still around or not.

The simple fact is that if it was a misunderstanding, i.e. wrong pictures the "second" time, it's easily fixed and then Biker would have egg on HIS face. As it happened, it was seriously sketchy.
