Well Tony, those office Christmas parties CAN get kind'a loud and rambunctious sometimes, ya know!

PARTY ON, NEWT! PARTY ON!!!!

(...btw, my fav might be Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year", but there really are so many great Christmas songs nowadays that it's pretty hard to pick just one)

Christmas Eve Sarajevo, especially because the son/son-in-law of some friends of ours (we know both sets of parents) is a concert pianist and we heard him play it a few years ago.
And then I heard the story behind it.

And this one is still relevant:

Yeah, I know what Christmas is really about.

John Prine - Christmas in Prison
My alltime favorite. If you like John Prine, "A John Prine Christmas" is a great album.

Rock Christmas:
Kinks - Father Christmas

Any of the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas albums are also a lot of fun, but a bit more traditional.

I bought this for my wife this year, we didn't have it in the collection. If you like motown/R&B this is the Christmas album to own:

A Christmas Gift - Phil Spector

I was kinda kidding about that.

Really like the Christmas Canon, both the children's choir and Transiberian Orchestra versions.

A great "remake" with some Detroit early rock influence is Sock it to me Santa by Bob Seger.
I also have to say +1 to the Wairesses and Joan Jett.

One of my favorite songs is "I Believe in Father Christmas" by EL&P. The message isn't the most uplifting, but the song is beautiful.

I Believe in Father Christmas

Merry Christmas to all & Ride safely into the new year.....

Wow! So THAT was "impromptu", eh Greg?!

Ummmm, yeah, sure. Just like those kids on "Glee" who can break into song at a moments notice and sound like it "wasn't" rehearsed at all, huh?!

(...actually, I've seen that video before, and yeah, I have to admit, it IS inspiring!)

Dwight it was about as "impromptu" as those "happenings" in the 60s and early 70s. Those Marshal amps just didn't appear in the middle of a park. I think the moving part of the food court video is how the "civilians" earnestly joined in with the instigators.

Good point, Mac.

Though, of course, the obvious difference between your two examples would be the lack of being able to order a "tab"(and I ain't talkin' about no diet cola here, you understand) at either the Hot Dog on a Stick, or at the Chick-fil-A counters!
