Painted some perforated metal and riveted in to fill fairing voids. One more thing off the list. Need to find something to finish that trailing edge though.
Cut it up.

I think it looks better with no edging at all , just radius the edges slightly . If'n ya put a border or edging on it , it'll make it appear smaller . Just my thoughts.

I just want something really tiny, the edge of the metal is kinda rough. I'll have to see if Autozone has any of that cheezy door edging in black, that might work.
Cut it up.

I think you can get it in a multitude of colours.

MHO: Grind and smooth the trailing edge to rounded "ripples" conforming to the perforations. Clean, no extra welding/braizing, etc. An alternative would be to weld a thin metal strip to the inside edge, this would give you added strength while leaving a clean edge looking straight (once painted) to the undiscerning eye. Man, if you had some more matching screws like those attaching the screen to the fairing, it would look factory made.

Absolutely INGENIOUS work there, Mark! But, just a minor quibble here...those BMX pegs are solidly mounted onto those custom made brackets of yours, right?! Well, I only bring this up because I'm not a big fan of pegs that don't swing up when their tips scrape the tarmac while you're leaned over in the twisties. That can possibly cause one or both of your tires to lift off the tarmac while doing this and result in a low-side crash, ya see. (...but other than THAT...fantastic work there, bro!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I thought of that, but since I've never dragged my tag bracket, these are plenty far up and outta the way.

Brilliant and ambitious! Nice work!!
After reading Dwight's concern about fixed pegs, I was reminded of a bike I once had with the same... and so, a story which addresses a certain safety concern. One day back in '71 when I was riding my '59 Tiger I headed down a steep hill from my driveway. It had been raining and the street was wet. Near the bottom (only a few houses away) I had to take a right hand turn and so I applied the rear brake which locked up the back tire. Now, I was rolling pretty slow and I remember dropping a leg to help stabilize the bike which had gone into a sideways skid. BANG, that's when it happened!! I rolled over the curb at the end of the street, my foot butted against the curb and became stationary while the bike kept moving. My leg got jammed between the curb and the fixed peg and.... SNAP!!! Broke my leg right in half. All this at a speed of maybe 15 mph.
So ummmmm, food for thought perhaps? Just saying!!

On the plus side, it may act like a motor guard, and prevent scuffing of the side should it slid out on ya.

Silliness I know, but they are finished except for paint. Maybe somebody will look kindly on me and donate a less obnoxious brake reservoir..

So this is the final product on the brake side. Hope to try it out later this week, weather's supposed to turn balmy with 50's. PS I lied in the post before this about them being done, that flimsy brake rod bent when I was bleeding the M/C. hahaha

Very nice looking set up. Looks much cleaner than the mid-mount set up I did. Did you come up off the hole in the back bottom side of the engine? After I did my set up I wish I had done it off of there possibly. One day I may redo my setup. I had made brackets that bolt up off the old rear passanger peg mounts. I did the mid-mount shifter and rear brake off of this also. Let us know how it rides and feels.Great job.---I like the mid mount controls much better I actually took the grandkids down some dirt trails the other day,fun stuff.

Gracias. Oh and in case anybody wondered still, I love the mids. Very good thing I'm short, they would fold a taller person in half. No scrapeage issues either. Only thing I have to be careful of is when I put my feet down, they are right where my legs USED to go when stopped with the factory controls.
Cut it up.

looks like you been having a lot of fun recently

That IS nice! I wasn't seeing it until you got it out in the light of day. I'd have to add a scrip label on that bottle, but that's just me.
