Why does the headlight look dark on the bottom half on the low beam on my speedmaster?

Is your low beam burnt out? There is a "parking light" in there too that's always on.

I think that is normal. Low beam reflects the light close and down from the bulb so most of the light will end up at the top of the reflector.

If you believe that.....

It could be right....

Sorry to barge in on this, but I couldn't figure out how to search for previous post on my particular topic. Kept getting no results found. Maybe you can help me out? Have 05 America with Triumph accessory light bar kit. Left side bulb went out. I removed trim ring and lens, but can't see how to remove and replace the bulb. Also, i have factory manual for this bike; there are no specs for the bulb. Thanks to any and all who can help me out with info.

Hey Gerry! Look on the backside of the light you took out, there is a small screw in the middle, that is the bulb and how it comes out. The part number I have is

MDL01R
BULB MUD HALOGEN LIGHTS
0755 MADE IN TAIWAN UNIT 1 EACH

Right off the package. If you need help, we'll meet up.

My original low beam did burn out and I replaced it with a Sylvania Silver Star, and I've tried several different bulbs in the parking light. Light seems alright when riding but I don't like the way it looks and wonder if I'm getting all the light I should. I'm thinking about putting on a light bar with the two spots. Thanks for the input.

That light bar really makes a big difference. Wendy has one on her bike and it really lights up the road.

The light bar makes a huge difference! Your headlight could burn out and you would still have plenty of light.

IS IT JUST THE BULB THAT COMES OUT? I PULLED AND PULLED AND PULLED ON THE BULB AND IT FINALLY CAME OUT. LOOKS TO ME LIKE I BROKE THE SOLDERED CONTACTS WHEN I FORCED THE BULB OUT. I'M WONDERING IF THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY SOMEHOW SHOULD BE UNPLUGGED AND REPLACED.

Whaaaaat???

The bulb comes out of the reflector by removing the retainer spring. Remove the rubber boot over the bulb prongs, undo the clip/spring/retainer, then remove the bulb.

Actually, it is the left side bulb from the Triumph light bar kit. I removed the little screw from the can and removed the "socket" so to speak, but the bulb positively won't come out of that assembly. It was in there tight as can be.

that whole piece gets replaced, not just the bulb... the wire, the plate, the bulb, it's all one piece
