I've been eyeing these Diamond Gusset Defender riding jeans for a while and finally saved up enough per diem to score a pair. They're a little spendy but they'll cull a pair to match your waist when you order and they are made next door in Georgia so it seemed like a good plan. Kevlar in the right places was soft and comfortable, not scratchy at all. I just put 1200 miles on them and to me they're worth every penny. Not too hot yet they were very comfortable at temps around 55° and the diamond gusset performs as advertised...mile after mile with no bunching around the boys. Sized like a relaxed-fit jean, they washed well and didn't shrink. I think I'll be buying some regular jeans from these folks soon. I even measured my favorite pair of jeans and the pair I got fit exactly the same. Quick service, too.

Their stuff is top notch. I have purchased 2 pair of their defender Jeans and 4 or 5 pair of their regualar jeans. They all fit great and are very comortable. They are a bit pricey but now that you have bought a pair of their jeans they will start sending you specials on the internet of sales and specials. GOOD STUFF!

My old "skidder jeans" were fine on the bike but impossible to walk around in... my leather riding pants are more comfortable..... Question, how are they for "walking around " ??

I couldn't tell the difference between them and my regular jeans when walking around.

I like the fact that they're made in an English speaking country (not implying anything here... just saying).

I felt the same way when I first tried mine on: hey! they fit! The comfort was an unexpected extra bonus.

Thanks for the digits!
I just wanted to see if the pockets were as deep as the duluth br jeans...they are nearly identical depth.

I'm pretty sure it's the same manufacturer in GA that makes jeans for Diamond Gussett and Duluth Trading Co.

I wore mine on the trip to California and back. They fit nicely, are comfortable in both cold and hot weather and the pockets hold lots of stuff. The only drawbacks are that they are a bit heavy and take a long time to dry after you wash them or get rained on.
I cannot attest to their performance in a crash as I have, to this point at least, successfully endeavored to avoid that comprehensive a test.

But tell me Larry, are they as good looking as a nicely worn-in pair of Levis? 'Cause I mean, if they make me look dorky then I gotta pass (what with being an up and coming Rock star and all)!!

The regular jeans are just that, regular jeans, but you'll have to wear them in if you want that lived-in look. I gig in mine all the time...

Coming from you Ed, I think I'd be okay on stage in a pair of DGs. So what I'm gathering here is that the regulars and just that... regular but in a heavier weight than the average jean.

I like them a lot. Of course the motorcycle ones are quite a bit heavier than the standard ones. Neither style is what you'd call fashion jeans and that's a good thing.

They certainly don't bind up when you throw your leg over your bike. I don't know why I remember this now, but many many moons ago, like 2.5 decades, I used to study martial arts and subscribed to Black Belt magazine. I remember they had gusseted crotch jeans "endorsed by Chuck Norris" because it was the only jeans he could do a high kick in.

I finally got my first pair of the kevlar lined DG jeans and tried them out today. They had a 25% off deal last week that I couldn't resist. Shipping was fast and communication was excellent. As the Friar said, these are not designer jeans, but they sure are comfy where it counts. I plan to use them often.
Blue/White 2007 TBA, Thruxton needles, Unifilter, AI removed, Polaris Bellmouth, Bubs, Nology Coils/wires, Lightbar, Ricor Intiminators, Hagon Nitros, Tall Sissy Bar w/luggage rack, Dart flyscreen & Lowers. 130 Mains, TrueGel Battery MG12-BS.

DG have turned out to be my Jean of choice, even for everyday use. I just ordered my 4th & 5th pair last night after receiving their 21% off email earlier in the week. I like the slim boot cut, that 1% stretch makes a big difference when bending over to get the boots on.

Comparing DG with DJ The Defender Jeans are a lighter fabric than Draggin Jeans. The Draggin Jeans are bulkier when folded up too. Both have a coin pocket in the left front pocket. The Draggin Jeans coin pocket is wider and deeper than the Defender Jeans. The Draggin Jeans only have 5 belt loops. 34x32. The Defender jeans have 7. 34x32 Draggin Jeans do wear out. I've two blue pairs. One has the right thigh area getting rather thin. Blue? They used to be! Now they look like well worn blue jeans: faded blue with lot's of white areas. I started wearing my Diamond Gusset Black Defender Jeans this month. Heck a week ago. Have yet to wash them. One REALLY nice feature are the velcro closures at the ankles. Nice touch when wanting to seal out the cold drafts. The metal hoop sewn above the right front pocket is unwanted. Nice touch if you want to attach tank scratchers to your jeans though. The right leg pocket is another sweet touch. Holds my cell phone perfectly. No lump in the front or back pockets. I carry the phone in my Jacket's left breast pocket. Yet when out of the jacket, that thigh pocket is the bees wax. The 'Diamond Gusset' fabric tag sewn under the 'cell phone' pocket stands out too much. Black jeans and a freaking gold tag? The defender black jeans fit me betterer than the draggin jeans. As of now, the defender jeans are my favorite pair. The black colour is nice and is dressy in a southern way. The price was right too.

Can't beleive after all of these years of riding, I have never heard of these jeans. I thought binding was just part of riding with a pair of jeans. Placing an order now. Wait will they make my butt look big?

You guys have me convinced to give these a shot. I normally wear Sliders and haven't had any complaints about them other than the black could be a little darker. Just placed an order for a pair of these in black, so we'll see how they compare. They look pretty dark from the pictures on the site.

I have a black pair. They are not black but not dark grey either. They're still jeans and I don't think real jeans can be super dark.

Just received the relaxed fit stonewash jeans. Good quality material and well made . As for fit, I prefer LL Bean (free shipping too). The $9.95 shipping seemed a bit much-which wiped out the discount. Oh well, the Diamond Gusset jeans will be used next saddle time.

I've got a pair of the shorts abd the Kevlar lined riding jeans, and both are great. Very comfortable and seem well made. I'll buy more from DG when needed.

Got a pair of the Defender jeans during the sale. Had to exchange to get the right size, but that was no problem. Took a ride with them the other day and they're pretty comfortable. Hopefully, I won't need to test the Kevlar lining.

Ive had my pair for a few months now. Just got around to riding again and finally wearing them. They fit better than my Levis and that diamond gusset sure is comfy. Karen liked the fit on me so much she ordered a pair (or intends on ordering a pair). No problems with size on my end. I followed their instructions and am very happy.

Is there a price break on shipping if you order two or more pairs? The $9.95 shipping for one pair seemed a little high. If so, I'll order a couple of pairs next time.

I dunno. I bought 1 pair of defenders, then the 2 regular ones, then the other pair of defenders. I've paid plenty of shipping.

They will, once in a while, do a free shipping deal or something else to lessen the pain. It helps if you follow them on facebook.

Man! these jeans will spoil you. Now what to do with a closet full of Eddie Bauer relaxed fit jeans. Yesterday, I wore a pair to work and realized how uncomfortable they were compared to DG- LL Bean too. More will be ordered in the future.

Ordered a pair of Blue Defender Jeans yesterday. Went down a size to 33W. Wife says I should have ordered a 32. We'll see.
imho the best feature of these jeans are the phone pocket. (not for the smart phones though)

Yeah I like that phone pocket too, although I've never used it. I like keeping my phone inside my Triumph leather jacket.

I just bought and wore today for the first time a pair of Sliders I ordered the knee armor. They worked great. I don't know about other riding pants, but WOW! , no bunching up while riding. I am a fan, and will order more.

Based upon the rec's on this thread, I purchased a pair last week that was delivered today. They seem to be of very high quality and quite comfortable right off the USPS truck. Excited to break them in on the way to Georgia next week! Thanks...

I have about a dozen pair of the DG's. I have 2 pair of Defenders, 2 pair of the Flannel Lined jeans, a couple pair of the Carpenter Jeans and a mix of about 6 pair of the relaxed and regular fit jeans. These things fit so well I don't even look at other jeans anymore and I used to swear by Levi's. They are a little pricey compared to other jeans but they are worth the extra money for the quality you are getting and knowing that they are made in the US helps too.

I got my first pair this week. Took 4 days to get here. Measured the waste like they say to, and the fit is perfect.

They look like nice jeans. I especially like that they get their materials all over the south and are put together in Ga. I like to buy and support USA made products whenever I can find them reasonably priced. I found some other places that make Jeans in the USA http://www.stillmadeinusa.com/jeans.htm

From their website:
"100% made in the USA for 21 years" The origins of Diamond Gusset Jeans *Denim from American Cotton Growers (all over Southeast USA) *Buttons and burrs from Kentucky and Tennessee *Thread for Nashville *Hang Tags and Labels from Tennessee *Pocketing from Mississippi *Leatherette Patch from Atlanta *Sewn together in the Georgia Mountains *Stonewashed in Georgia"
It doesn't get specific about where in the Ga. mountains. The store and headquarters is in Bon Aqua, Tn. Just west of Nashville.

I'm guessing Mt. Vernon Mills in Dalton, GA.

Ok, guys gonna pull the trigger on the Defenders. How do the sizes run, would you say they are true to sizing.
I normally wear a 33 waist in jeans.

Got a pair on the Defenders a couple weeks ago. Dang, what was I waiting for. These suckers are the everything you guys said they were. Perfect fit right outta the box, no wash just put them on and ride. I've very pleased, this American Made Company will be getting some more of my dollars.

I've been wanting to get a pair of these jeans for a while due to everyone raving bout them, but wow... $125 bucks? At $17 per pair I could get 7 pair of Wranglers made in Mexico for the price of one pair of Defenders made in the USA.

Do $17 Wranglers have Kevlar?

The fit and comfort of the regular DG jeans are also vastly superior. I've been wearing them for about six years now and can't seem to wear them out. I haven't tested the kevlar, and hope not to, the Defender jeans are comfortable if a bit heavier than the non kevlar ones.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Maybe they will have one of their "deals" close to the Holidays and I can get a pair for $99. Keep an eye out for me, Yota.
