not only mandatory when getting a drivers licence, but should also be a requirement when purchasing a cell phone

Thanks Damien.. I had to stop the vid early... just too graphic. But yeah, I agree it's a good one to show new drivers and cell operators/drivers. Sobering for sure. Lasting thoughts.

And in the driving part of the test to get a license should a all day event including having to drive a old uhaul truck with a non-turbo diesel and a manual transmission and riding a motorcycle in heavy traffic to let non bike riders know how unprotected we are

I watched the whole thing, saw almost all the real ones before. I used to go on a web site called bangedup.com as well as rotten,orogish,and consumption junction.

I couldnt finish it. Its a tough one, especially when they get into the clips of real accidents. When I was in driver ed back in high school they showed us a similar type of film on the dangers of drinking and driving. It used police footage and mogue shots. Very nasty, but the intent was to shock. Nowadays, with the gore that every teenager has been exposed to in movies, games and online, its harder to shock teens. If showing this video to new drivers can make them put down the phone and pay attention to the road I'm all for it.

Some of these shots have featured in T.V. here in New Zealand. They are graphic and horrible. As one who has had to deal with the aftermath of these incidents more times than I care to remember I support the showing of those messages that promote road safety. I can tell you it’s no fun walking around picking up body parts and trying to sort things out. I find it incredible Dog says he didn’t even raise an eyebrow.

I didn't raise an eyebrow because I am watching it on here on video. Dealing with that in person is different matter. That video is very mild compared to many others I have seen not to mention the stabbings and shootings I have been in the middle of.

Though I doubt this new and latest version of "Red Asphalt" will actually reach and make an impression upon those multitasking and distracted drivers out there it really needs to reach in order to show them that once behind the wheel bad things can and do happen much more quickly than they may have been lulled into thinking it can, it sure is amazing how far we've "progressed" in film-making nowadays, isn't it?!

Saw this on NBR site about a week ago. When you've seen a few similar accidents over 35 years of driving, as a witness, a passenger, and as a driver, and have children in their early twenties, it does have a tendency to "shitt up the moment"
