Just a quick review of the Dart Fly Screen that I installed on my bike. I like the looks of the Fly screen and it installed pretty easily too. I took it for a ride and at first it seemed OK but the faster I went I noticed the wind hitting me right at nose height. Soon my glasses were actually fluttering on my face. I then ducked down an inch or two and the wind went right over my head and it was actually quiet riding but very uncomfortable staying in the tucked down position. Needless to say I will be putting it up for sale very soon. I can recommend it to riders that are probably 5'9" tall or less. I believe that if you have a low profile seat and probably up to 5'11" or possibly 6' it would work well. I feel quite sure that if I had a low profile seat It would work well and I would be keeping it installed on my bike. Has anyone else experienced these issues?

I have the National Cycle version and I like it a lot. I am 5'11 and it takes the wind blast off my chest. I wear an open face helmet and it works well for me. I dont do any long distance touring but do spend a fair amount of time on the freeway at freeway speeds. It does require some trial and error adjusting until you get the angle right for maximum effectiveness. Its not a full geezer windshield but it works surprisingly well for how small it is.

I'm 5'9 and absolutely love my Dart screen. So you are probably right about taller riders.

Yea, if I had a low profile seat it would work for me but I like my seat and don't plan on changing it any time soon. SO I will be putting mine up for sale as well. It sucks because I do like the looks of it.

I have often considered taking off my roadscreen and going to a dart, usually after I see how good looking these bikes are when I see one without a big screen at a ralley. But I have been riding with a windshield for about ten years now, and I really don't miss the bugs, cold and driving rain. Always the question, form or function....

I'm 5'10 and love my Dart. Never had a windscreen, rode "naked" before and was always wiped out at the end of a day after being out riding for a good part of it.
The only problem I had installing the Dart were accessing the mounting nuts. The very british instructions describe them as "fidgety". It's a very tight space to access and you will have to be creative and coordinated to use a finger from each hand to get the nuts to start and then turn them with a wrench, one flat at a time.
I don't know of any way to adjust the Dart's height or angle. However, that smoked little bugger complements the blue/white colour of the bike. I'm pleased with her. I do ride with a full-face helmet though, so I don't know about any turbulence issues described by others.

The Fly Screen whether Dart or National, provides for relief of chest pressure and not much at all for in your face protection. It is a low profile application that does make a difference with chest pressure and if you get relief from flies? Well your lucky! I used one on a 1500 mile ride in the harshest of riding, and it was much better than naked, for certain. As long as you know what your have it is a value especially for the minimalist.

I definitely noticed a difference with the absence of wind hitting me in the chest and even on the lower part of my face. But when I went up over 80 MPH my glasses would start to flutter on my face. I didn't like my glasses flutering and I could feel the wind hitting just under my glasses. As I posted earlier if I was an inch or two shorter or had a low profile seat I think it would have worked great for me. I also liked the looks of it too.

I bought mine mainly to cover the speedometer, but felt the difference of the wind off my chest.
