OK, I rejetted my carbs. After grunting, sweating and uttering a few choice words, my mother never taught me, I got all the bits and pieces back together. However, after opening the fuel petcock, I noticed a leak, first around the drain on the left bowl. I checked the drain closed and then noticed it looks like the gas is coming from the the joint. I need to get some small allen head wrenches to access the new bowl screws and I will do that tomorrow. I'm going to check the screws and make sure they are tight, hopefully without over doing it. If that doesn't work, I'm going to drain and drop the bowl to check the seal, make sure it's sitting properly and nothing on it. Anyone, with carb rework experience, have any other suggestions or cautions to pass on? Thanks much.

One thing is Do Not over tighten the bowl screws it's easy to strip out the body of the carb.
Good Luck

Tom, Thanks and I'm really trying to avoid that. I thought I had all the screws snug before I wrestled the carbs back in. The only other thing I can think of is something is affecting the seal around the bowl. And it's only the left bowl that's dribbling.

How did you put the bowls on without allen wrenches? Check the needles on the float, also check that the floats are moving freely !

Steve, I had the carbs off and sideways to work on the mains. I replaced the old bowl screws with new SS allen head ones. At the time, I could easily access the screws. But with the carbs back in place, the allen wrenches I have, won't access. I need a cheapo set of "L" shaped ones.
How do I access the needles on the float? The floats seemed free moving this morning, when I did the mains.

Been awhile since I took mine apart, the carbs that is, I don't know if the needles are the type that are separate needle and seat or the type that are one piece unit.

OK, my neighbor came over and took a close look, he's an auto mechanic of many years and motorcyclist as well (not Triumph though). He is fairly certain the float is sticking. So I'll drain & drop the bowl tomorrow, time permitting, and check the float. I know I had a problem with the pin, that holds the float, sliding out this morning when I assembled the bowls. So I suspect the float got cocked or hung up inside. Still gots to get me some little allen wrenches.
