Yep, that simple..

Remember to have the ignition OFF when programming the cdi.

I have just done a 100 mile run on map 6 and am very pleased with it.. will be trying map 9 soon

Are you adjusting the 0-1000 RPM range for ease of starting?

I find it starts better with no modification to the 0 - 1k rpm, I am actually going to try and retard the ignition a small amount > 1k and see if I can get the normal starting back.

well put i my procom on and its a great improvement over the stock one that only ran on one cylinder

today when I rode to work it was about 40 some odd degs and i experienced this hard start you all have been mentioning, full choke carb heaters hooked up and nothing, so after a min of this i thought I might have flooded it, so I turned off the gas and killed the choke and hit the button hmm it sounded better.

So I pulled the choke half way out, hit the button vroom vroom away I go. When I get out of work I started at half choke hit the button vroom vroom first try

I have been following this thread and need some educations on this topic. If my bike is running fine and I do not need to replace the ECU at this time, is there any reasons why I should buy the Procom unit. I like to tinker with things but at the same time I want the bike to run correctly when I am ready to ride. It seems most people have starting problems. Is this a fair statement? What benefits could I enjoy by replacing the ECU with the Procom? Thanks in advance.

No you dont need to get one, thats the simple answer...

I had issues hitting the rev limiter so this was a good way to solve it, the fact I now have a sports bike and it flies is just a bonus.

You may consider that getting one now as a standby might be a good thing in case they go up in cost, there cheaper than the Triumph one, the starting is just about learning how to start your bike again...

As you have no issues you need to consider the cost, its a luxury do you need it no, do you want it YES LOL

So do we have anyone running them on the #9 map setting? And if so how does it run vs other settings?

I'm still on BrianT's map. Felt sorry for Vera Lynn as she wanted desperately to roll through 80K...so Cinnamon girl, with a procom heart of silicon, has been on her side-stand in the garage for the past week and a half. I told Vera Lynn not to worry as she'll get to way past 80 soon enough, being as I sort of promised her that she'd get to carry me to the District via Dahlonega. But she started slobbering all over herself and I just couldn't take it no moe.

Me being me just pulled the fastener off with pliers, then realised that if you pull them apart with love you can actually re use them

I now have a bolt in one side and a re used fastener in the other.. some on here have used cable ties

I slid a large flatblade screwdriver between the bracket and the CDI and twisted. Several choice words later, it pulled apart.
