Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had added a small stick on convex mirror to their existing mirrors to help avoid missing the blind spot.

I already have a pr of Kury rectangle type mirrors which I'm happy with but can't seem to find anything of quality to suit this need.

I also generally do a quick head glance anyway before changing lanes but to be able to keep an eye out whilst riding using one of these would be handy I believe.

Just interested if anyone else had been on the same wavelength as me and already been down this track that's all?

Just wouldn't be enough room on my mirrors... but as long as I can turn twist my neck around I should be okay. So far so good.

Even another mirror on the stem would alleviate the space issue. Not sure whether this has ever been discussed and yes whilst the quick neck twist has always been the obvious when riding bikes, I also know driving 30 tonne fire trucks quickly and safely has required several mirrors at times to ensure absolute safety for my crew and the public around us.

I think I should have probably looked into convex mirrors but I didn't and now rather than change I'm seeing whether others have thought similarly and have seen any alternaive solutions out there.

Back when I was young, skinny and had more hair, I bought these small stick-on curved little mirrors that went right on the corner of my car mirrors. It gave me a good view off to the sides. Perhaps you can try something like that? You might find them at a car parts store or on-line?

I might look for something this as well, once I upgrade from the Mickey Mouse ears.

I drove with wide angle mirrors for many years, and got used to having them. Found a pair of stick on round ones for my bike. I mounted them inboard on the mirror glass. Their base is angled to allow some aiming during install. I like 'em. I put a pair on my pickup. They're helpful in parking lots too, to see if anyone is dropping in from 4 or 8 o'clock when you begin to move.

Hi Steve and Martin, I have had a look for those type of stick on mirrors you're talking about cos I've used them too. There's not a lot of room to fit one even if I could find exactly what I was after. Not that I won't find these a practicle solution either, but Actually I'm thinking a smaller mirror stem mounted model would be ideal but that's only picturing one in my mind.

Have you though about bar end mirrors? or...

Suggestion: look into the CRG "Lanesplitter" bar-end mirrors. They look really good and they function flawlessly.

Not cheap, but worth the dollars IMHO.
