Not interested but when they start putting Triumph Tigers in the lottery give me a shout.

Every fall 98.9 The Rock radio station here in Kansas City gives away a Harley. 09 it was a Fatboy, but that's not what I try to win. If you're a registered "Rockaholic" they throw you the keys to the muscle car. 09 the car was a 09 Camero SS, but prior years have yielded Chevelle SS, Road Runner, and a 69 Camero.
I say screw the bike, I'll take the car though.

I can't help wondering if HD have got too much stock and they're trying to get rid without lowering the price While I applaude their genorosity, I wonder if HD motorcycles are the best things to send to Haiti right now? Surely HD clothing would have been better? Just my thoughts and please no politcal debates about this

Ya see, I,ve been a member here for a few years and thats the reason i quit posting here for a while. you mention harley and everyone seems to think its time to slam harleys and you if you like them. I,m also a member of 3 other mc forums and none of them pick on a certain brand. Triumph riders bad mouth other bikes more than any other group I know. I was ridin hardtail choppers 35 years ago when some of these people werent even born I,ve actually rode harleys for thousands of miles not just read about them. So I come back here to post something of interest to the mc community, and I get the same old tired $hit I,ll lighten up but some people need to grow up. I posted about the lottery on other sites and they actually answered my ? without having to resort to bs. Some things never change

I would love to win one, I would sell it and buy something I want. That isn't knocking HD I would just rather have something else. Maybe put the money to another pre-unit.

I think the Fat Boy is my favorite HD, and now the new Fat Boy Low I would love to win one, and I would keep it. Stone was riding before I was born! (you're old) I like to make fun of Harley owners more than bikes, it's not the bikes fault it has to sit outside the dealer on a sunny Saturday while Fatty McGee eats more free hot dogs.

If the prize in a raffle was a Harley, I would enter to support the raffle not to win the bike. If I won, I'd probably donate it right back for another raffle This is because the Harley would never be used as the Triumph only comes out at weekends, and very often I can't be bothered selling things The Harley lifestyle makes me laugh

C'mon, if you're been here that long, you surely know we poke fun at Hardley, but most of it is good natured. Lots of us have a Hardly, and a few like me have owned one in the past. And besides, it's not the bike that is a magnet for our derision, it's the "lifestyle", "poser", "clothiers", "attitude" people who we dislike.

While I'm all for keeping the 100 plus year old Triumph vs. Harley rivalry alive, I got a call today from a Harley dealer. Monday I go interview for a sales position.
If it puts food on the table, I can loves me some Harleys pretty darned good.
"Oh heck yes, they're GREAT bikes - don't you worry none about that pesky little model year '07 & later over heating problem - the service department will fix that right up for you (at $90 an hour)."

Besides It says right in the Triumph owners manual on page 63 under Service Intervals-
"Make fun of HD every 3000km or 6 months whichever comes first"

18 replys and no one even answered my question. The words Harley Davidson came up and every ones thought train goes to bashing. I realized I wasn't going to get a serious answer here so I posted on another forum and they actually took time to read past HD and answered my question. I,VE discussed many times why the members here feel they have to belittle other people for making their owm choice about the machine they own. I'm not really a miserable old buzzard but you can stay off this site for months, come back ,ask a regular question and the same old crap starts. I really think that the triumph riders think they have something to prove. Someone said the forums they belong to makes fun of other bikes, which forums would they be?, cuz I,ve never seen it except here.Like I said before some things will never change.

I usually don't buy scratch so I don't know if they have it here in MA, next time I go to the store I'll look. Don't hate the game, hate the players or is the other way around?

Overreact much? I just wasted five minutes of my time reading through this thread, and honestly don't see the "bad-mouthing" that would cause you to get so upset. You got at least two responses: Cochran said a radio station does something similar (even though I realize it's not a state lottery), and Cyrille said Ontario does something similar up there. A few people said they wouldn't mind winning it so they could sell it and get something they want more than a Harley (not answers to your specific question, but their opinions...which surely you knew you were going to get on an internet forum). Here's a third response to your question: I seem to remember the NC lottery doing something with a bike last year, but I could be wrong because I don't play the lottery. I think I remember radio commercials for a Fat Bob. Oh, if they did and I won it, I would also probably also sell it with zero miles on it and do something else with the money.
Hope you win your Harley.

Here we all are congratulating you in your other thread for paying off your bike, and now here you're friggin' well bashing US... for what? Not answering your question? Having a little fun with the HD thing? No one's holding a gun to your head are they and making you log on here. Or is it just that you weren't breastfed as a child and are therefore deeply insecure (gotta be some explanation)?
Whatcha could do here (at ba.com) is thank everyone for congratulating you in your other thread, and share a good chortle with us in this thread. Otherwise as they say in this country... "take off you hoser." (and btw, we use that term lightheartedly, just so you know and don't get all sensitive and stuff)

Quite honestly I did not see the question part of your post. Even after reading your rant. I often skim more than read, and had thought the point was just to bring the HD-lottery tie in to our attention, in case anyone was interested.
As far as I know KS & MO are not doing anything like that currently, but I don't play so I don't pay that much attention. I am pretty sure KS has done an HD give-away on a second-chance in the past though.

I'm sure some of the NY members have seen this, but New York has teamed with HD to give away some new Fatboy bikes. You can win one instantly or enter for a 2nd chance drawing. Are there any other states doing this?, or is it just NY? http://nylottery.org/ny/nyStore/cgi-bin/InstantGameDetail_Cat_201872_SubCat_1552564_NavRoot_301.htm
They did that here in Oregon a couple years ago with scratch tickets.

Like I said before, the Triumph / Harley thing has been going on for over 100 years. Notice how we generally don't pick on other brands? Truth be told, the Harley thing here is probably 98% in jest, and if I had to gamble, I'd bet that most of us here (including little old me) don't really care what anybody rides. We're just doing our Triumph Vs. Harley duties. Come Tuesday, I may (or may not) be able to sell you all the Harleys (or is it Harlies) you'd ever want. I'll set aside the one upholstered in thumb tacks just for you.

Uh huh...uh huh...and here I'll bet you guys always thought the Larry/Dwight "debates" were "interesting", didn't ya???!!! Ya know, now I'm startin' to think besides politics and religion, MAYBE the name of Harley-Davidson might best be put in that there verboten topics clause in the AUPs too!!! (...and I'll give ya THREE guesses if THAT happens who it'll be that'll do his utmost to enforce THAT rule around here TOO!!!...yep, it'll be ME alright!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
