I noticed today that my rear brake isn't working.
The pedal piston goes right in with no effect. Front is fine.(thank goodness)
Anyone else had this happen?
I suppose age might be something. Ole Mate was 22 years old a few week ago!!!

I'm assuming you have fluid in in the system, time for a rebuild

several possible causes, caliper is bad, caliper is frozen on the slides, rubber line is bad creating a blockage, master cly. is bad etc..

Yeah, after I cooled down I went and checked the fluid. Plenty there. The piston moved in and out too easily so I'm assuming its that. Anybody rebuilt them before?

Just rebuilt the rear on my Tiger 1050. The job was very simple. Was the first time to rebuild for me.
Should take about an hour, if you can find your snap ring pliers, if not it takes a a bit longer due to the trip to the tool store.

+1 for the suggestion by Two_Wheel_n on using brakecrafters.com

Glad it helped you!
Some guys get into a jam, they post about it to get help, guys reply back to help them, then you don't hear nothing back from them (the original poster).
Everybody here likes to help out, it's not as busy here as it once was, but it still a great place to stop at from time to time
