Started in 2005 I joined in 2006. I wonder how many members are left that joined prior to 2010.

We have a huge member list but I don't think we have a lot of real members. I stop in once in a while because this group and my Goodwood Green Bonneville America traveled all over the country. this group and the years on that bike was later in life with motorcycles but was absolutely the best riding time I ever had.

Started in the 60s on a Cub moved to Honda 305 Super Hawk then to Bonneville T-120. Fast forward 30 years had many cruisers from Honda CB line (550, 750, 1000C), Harley Sportsters, Honda Goldwing 1975 etc. lots of bikes.

2005 in Fort Lauderdale Florida on Route 1 I walked into a Triumph dealer. There it was! Kind of like a Bonneville, Kind of like a chopper, totally different while being totally Triumph. I kept looking at it trying to figure out what I didn't like about it. 3 days later I owned it because I didn't find anything I didn't like about it. Early 06 I joined here.

Of the dozens of bikes over 50 years my best 3 a very close list as I loved these 3 and kept them for a long time. Honda CB1000 Custom, Victory Kingpin 100CID, Triumph Bonneville America.

Too old to ride now, but not too old to stop in and look around. This site is Iconic.

I'm still here too .
First bike was a Honda 250 XL/S (on-off road) rode that for a few years. Someone I knew had a basket case Norton with a combat motor, bought it put it back together and rode it for a few years also. stopped riding for awhile until I was driving by a motorcycle shop and saw a Triumph banner flying , stop in and saw an America, asked if they had a black one, he yes in the back. Picked it up next weekend. that was in 2004. Lurked on here for awhile and joined in 2009.

I didn't know of the group until 2009. I joined in 2010.

I was driving to my in-laws' house in my home town when I saw a small sign for the Triumph NorEast Rally. I followed the signs into the group camping area of Stony Brook State Park near Dansville, NY. I was welcomed by Ed Smith, Dinqua, Fast Eddy, Tripps, Moe and many whose names I don't remember right now. I do remember the characters, just not the names. I was in a car and owned a Sprint, not a BA. Still they asked me to hang around and sign the banner. I returned the following two years on my Sprint. I think they were the last years of that rally.

Since then, I've acquired a Bonneville America and now see what they liked about them.

11/19/2009 11:04 PM That is the date and time I joined after owning my first Speedmaster 2007 for over a year at that point. Now on Speedmaster #2 a 2015 grey tank since 2019 it only had 1564 kilometers on it after 4 years of non use.

joined not long after scoring my first BA, it was an 04. Wish I'd never sold it. My '10's a good scoot, but I liked the 04 better. My first was a '69 Trophy 500 with high pipes, bought it new. looked like this:

Yep, still around.

I've been on the website since 2010.
Purchased the America 5/9/2006.
Has been a joy to ride, never lets me down.
The bike currently has 142,000. miles on it and is going strong.
I enjoy this site immensely, just wish it was a little more active.
It has been two years since I retired the America is a great recreation.
Now i need to get something to do in the colder months.

Wow! Good to see many are still around. 2025 is 20 years for Bonneville America's website.

I figure this website was certainly well worth being available. Friends, tips, trips, repair advice, laughs, and some tears as some passed on.

Thank you, to those that keep it running and keep it active!

Don't recall the exact date but it was 2003.
Owned several bikes over the years and currently still riding the 2003.

Still here and still drop in occasionally to see if there is anything new. I went to several of the Midwest rallies. I still ride the 03 America occasionally but mainly the 17 Trophy.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Still here, still hosting very much down scaled rallies every year, number 20 this year. Still have my 2002 and she still purrs down the highway quite nicely.

I'm still here, alive and well, still ride Lola with 54K on the clock. Still climb trees and fix stuff. The old forum was more user-friendly to me, just giving this new one a try. Just got back from the '24 GA Rally, it was an arduous 15 minute ride....

I still chime in when I need help troubleshooting. This website is better than a mechanic very literally. Cheaper too. Wassup guys! I'm in California now. I have a Victory Gunner as well, it is friggin awesome. The Vic forums aren't as good, but they're ok. I started here in 2003.

I'm still here. Don't post much anymore unless it's about the Arkansas Rally, which I just did and that's why I saw this post. I did take over admin duty on the Triumph Bonneville America facebook page that Z-Man started like 15 years ago or so, and there are almost 5000 members in that group. I still have and ride my '02 Bonneville America, but mostly my '12 Tiger 800 and occasionally my '69 T100R

I joined in 2003 (for advice on a road trip around the US, and made some very goods friends along the way) so the website has been going longer than 20 years already. I think 2025 might be the 20th year in its current format.

I'm still here too - occasionally. I bought my America in '06 and it looks like I formally joined in January '07.

I've told the story before of how after selling my GoldWing (Mrs. Hermit couldn't physically handle motorcycle road trips anymore), I was looking for something more suited for local use. I was wavering between an '03 FLHPI and the America. I took her to the HD dealer one evening, the bike had been moved into the back and while she was testing the comfort of the seat, the salesman said that all she needed to do now to become a "real" biker was learn to SMYT! as he pantomimed lifting up his T-shirt. That sealed the deal and the next day, while looking once again at the Triumph, she pulled out her checkbook and bought it for me.

Still have the America, but much like my appearances here on BA.com, only ride it occasionally. It still feels great, but life gets in the way of longer trips. Sadly.

I'm not going anywhere and neither is my America, but my Honda BIG Ruckus is more practical for the local errand-running I do.

Just amazing how the American and Speedmaster captured a large group and how long they stayed.

Great memories about great people with great motorcycles.

It's not actually.
2005 is when the forum software was upgraded to the current version.
I joined in late 2003 or early 2004 on the old software version.
That makes you a newbie, Ron. :-)

I would add that the site certainly impacted lives in many ways.
We ran a BA rally for almost 15 (until Covid) where a significant
number of members from all over Europe would trek to a different country
to meet every year.
We even had Dwight and Fasteddy (on 2 occasions) from the US join us.

I joined in 07 and it was still the old software version then too. It was for quite a while after I joined too, I can't remember exactly how long before the software change. I liked the old version better.

You are talking about an upgrade 3rd version (in 07 or 08) to the new (second) version installed in Jan of 2005.
The old (first) version died in Jan 2005.
If you look you will see a lot of the original members (including myself) here had to rejoin in Jan of 2005.

I had no idea there had been an even earlier version, far as I knew there had been 2. So I liked the 2nd better than the 3rd, have no idea what the first was like.

Just thought I would clarify it so you don't get fancy ideas about claiming a veteran pension like some of us do. :-)))
The first version was homegrown I believe built by Robert (the owner of the site) whom we haven't seen on here for at least 15 years.
The software was fine but apparently it wasn't flexible enough so we went with an off-the-shelf package in 2005, while we still had ere... um ... hair. :-)))

I only remember seeing Robert on maybe twice, I know once for sure but maybe twice. I don't think any more than that. One thing for sure is it hasn't been the same since FriarJohn was lost.

Still here. Not on as much as I used to be also. I sold my 03 America years ago after putting 60,000 kms on it. Still see it around town the odd time. My Rocket is running strong. Will be trailering it down to Florida again this winter so long as the hurricanes don't ruin our rental location.

I really miss the old days and those heated discussions when thinigs like "what's the best oil?", "what jet size should I use", "how to get rid of decel pop", "Triumph Thunderbird expectations" along with all the tech issues we addressed. I enjoyed the picture posts of many of the fellows showing their home riding locations along with the cross country trips. Got to purchase and sell some accessories with many of this group too. Never had a problem. Miss you guys!

IIRC, Robert was heavily into Scouting and that was taking up a tremendous amount of his time and energy. I had a couple of short conversations with him at the time. Seemed like a good guy with a lot of projects going on.

Haven't been around much lately. Sorry.
Sold the America a while back and haven't ridden in a long time.

The sudden death of the GoodFriar left me a bit winded out at the time.
Whenever I looked at my bike, I was always reminded of him, mostly because I had a few of his old America parts on it!

I still have a look at the forum from time to time.
I do miss you guys.

Hope you are doing well, and wish you all health and happiness.

PS. Anyone knows if Keith from BC Canada is still around?

I still have a look at the forum from time to time.
I do miss you guys.

Hope you are doing well, and wish you all health and happiness.

PS. Anyone knows if Keith from BC Canada is still around?

Yes, John's accident took a lot of peoples breath away. I think that happened a short time after several of us met at Dwight's house in Arizona.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

I joined November 2005. Still own my 2003 America but she's sitting at the back of my garage under a dust cover. I bought a Harley Dyna as a project to give me something to do in retirement ...... it was rough and took me a year and a half to rebuild. That's been my ride for the past two years but my winter plans this year are to revive the Triumph and see if I can bring her back to her former glory! It's good to be back, hope everyone is keeping well!

I'm still around but not riding. Still have two in the garage but they only get out to ride around the neighborhood on occasion. My wife and my best judgement say to sell them both, but there's an attachment I just can't shake. Besides, although they're both nearly pristine, used bikes are about a dime a dozen and I'm too attached to sell for nothing to some kid that's going to reduce them to a heap of dents and scrapes. To satisfy my love of the twisties, I bought a Miata a few years back. No, it isn't exactly the same but it's a whole lot easier on a set of old, tired legs and I can do it all day in any weather and never get tired, wet or cold. I do envy any of you who continue to ride. Best wishes!
