I have had a blank page for a few days and now the header and most of the usual stuff is missing. I was able to access the home page. I noticed there isn't anything about Friar John in the memorial link either.

I am glad you started this thread. I am happy to see the upgraded site.
I could view the forums after the upgrade but only when not logged in. After logging in I could edit preferences and profile type info but could no longer view the forums. An email corrected that (thank you again for the prompt response). Most things work for me but... I wanted to start a thread like this but seem to be unable to "start a thread", no option seen on the screen to do so. I see several threads have started since the change so I must be missing something.
I think I can adapt to the new look quickly.

edit: And I have learned you can only edit your post for a 30 minute window after submitting it.
Have not checked the icon/emojis yet. Hope the ones I would use are still there, that other site lost the ones I would use.

Easy to do, when you click LOUNGE (for example) at the top left you should see a "button" that says "New Thread" click that and the rest should be simple.

I agree, it should be that simple.
No such button is seen.
There is one to "Follow" a forum but not to start a "New Thread". I have sent an email about it, hope I got that email address correct as I did have it wrong at first.

And what about this ShoutChat. Is that like a group PM, a private thread or something like that? Or is that something I was oblivious to from before?

Thanks to member Jackshakes, the site is finally back up and running. We are still figuring out all the bells and whistles so hopefully more info will be forthcoming in the near future. We appreciate your patience till we get everything sorted out.

In the upper left corner there is a box that reads "THREAD OPTIONS" next to "Tools" the drop down menu should take you from there.

Or maybe it reads "new thread".

Up to the right there is a drop down arrow by your name. If you drop down you will see the ShoutChat. If you look you may see a comment I made, it just grows from there. If you don't see I have no idea what it does.

I have that option when looking at a thread. But that only works for comments in that thread. No such option when I am looking at the forum and would like to "Start" a new thread. When viewing the forum the only button on the upper left side is to "Follow" the forum.

edit: And obviously others do have an option to start a thread as this one, and others, have been started since the upgrade. So once again, I am not just like all the others. Of course that may also be reflected in my having a Triumph and not a top selling brand. Following the leader was never my best trait.

Go to the main forum. Click on the forum you want to start a thread in. You will see a blue button to make a new thread.

Okay, when you go to the page that says "forums" then go to "lounge",it should have a blue box in the upper left to start a thread... Is it not there for you?

No. From the Lounge screen and above "Thread Title" is one button. And that button is to "Follow" or "Unfollow" that forum.
After selecting a thread I have the "Thread Options", "Tools" and "Follow" buttons, but again, they only apply the the thread being viewed.

edit: hate it when I misspell a word but still have a valid word so I don't realize it's the wrong word!

Weird stuff.. I have checked your permissions and you are set up the same as everyone else. I will keep playing with it to see if I can figure it out.

I do not see a "New thread" button either.

OK, go back one page from this one and look at the top left, it should say "New Thread" unless you started at page one. Alternately, click "Forums" at the top, then click "Lounge" as soon as you click "Lounge" look at the top left and you should see "New Thread"

I was wondering about that. As we had the same issue when logging in initially after the upgrade. There must be something in common about the accounts.
Heck, I will try another PM to see if that is indeed working.

Kudos to Jackshakes and the rest of you, Chy, Moe, et al; for getting this done. Glad to see the forum's back, I was gettin a little worried! I think Friar would approve!

I see new things populating on the screen. The left and right side bars and a Portal!

edit: I see "New Gallery", "Follow" and "View Options" buttons in the new picture forum.
Still no option to do a "New Thread" in any other forum.

I think we have it now, er YOU have it now. (The ability to create new threads). Not only that but all users too.

I was like MattyMo , I could view the forums and log in but couldn't log in AND view the forums... One PM to Moe, BAM!!! all set I think

I now have the "New Thread" button on all forums. Hopefully VABird (or anyone else with same issue) will check in today and see the same.
Thank you very much for the efforts. I may not create many threads but do like to have the option to do so.
I will even go change my mood emoticon as I am less confused as this day starts.
