I believe the thread above gets around to it(Rick's rectifier)

Thanks guys!
I just sent Jack from Roadster Cycle an email.
I got a R/R for my Street Triple
from him in ‘15.

I appreciate the replies.
You helped jog my memory to find
the info I had stored in my computer.

Have a great day.

PS: It’s nice to know, after all these years,
I can still call home for a helping hand.

Hey Mert! I’ve fixed a couple of overcharging systems with this problem and it was a poor grounding set up both times. The stock regulators drain the overvoltage to the ground (as opposed to the mosfet smart system) and when the regulator ground fails the excess can blow headlights and melt batteries. I’d bet the ground has built up corrosion that’s reduced the capability to drain the excess properly. The mosfet systems are a better design, though, so it would be an improvement.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

hey Ed,

Thanks for the heads up regarding corrosion build up.
I will be certain to check for crud when the project commences.
