Got the doctor's verdict today, 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments starting Monday. Maybe another week or two to get my stuff together and by then it will be so hot I'll have to run stop signs and redlights so my tires won''t melt to the pavement. Already spent 2 weeks recovering from surgery. Doesn't look like a good year.

Ed: I missed the beginning of this - what was the surgery? (Cancer I assume)
Just to chime in, I had prostate cancer surgery in October and I'm still recovering from that. Hopefully the radiation won't drag you down too badly.

Yes, GB. What reave here said!
Except, I would have posted "when YOU'RE better", as that of course would be the correct contraction of "you are", not "your"!
(...but don't worry reave ol' boy...I seem to see this mistake ALL over the damn internet now days, and so YOU'RE not alone here, dude!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Wish you the best with your treatments. I know a couple of people who have done this type of program. At least it's waaaay better than it used to be. No fun though. As an interesting sidenote, my father was one of the "pioneers" in radiation treatment, receiving what was then "cutting edge" treatment for his tumor in the brain, in the 1950s. He wasn't expected to make it, but lived a great healthy life until a few years ago.
