Here is the story on Wired https://www.wired.com/story/how-to-protect-yourself-from-that-massive-equifax-breach/

You may want to use the link to check to see if your info has been compromised.

they are teying to make money off it too, they offer a free scan to see if your info was compromised. All they scan is your Email then want you to sign up to scan social and stuff.

I got lucky. Checked the website. My credit report will not be affected. My son and his mom will have to freeze their credit.

Did you search more than just your Email Paul? If so how? I was only able to search my Email then I was asked to sign up to do more.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Equifax is messed up. They shouldn't even be making money off of this incident.

My browser blocked it too, got a red screen that said "deceptive site!" and it did have the exclamation point. I went to experian.com/scan but like I said all it did was look for my Email but then wanted me to sign up to scan anything else like my social! I would have rather had my social checked for, seems more important to me.

I don't know. It worked for me. Downloaded from a text a mortgage underwriter sent me. It was a legitimate Equifax security site that had you put your last name and last 6 numbers of Ss# and it said either you are likely to be affected or not likely to be affected by the event.

Hmm, in such case, is it a legit site? Or another scam trying to get an easy score out of the commotion?
