Ordered a H4 LED from Kapscomoto and as many of you have found out already they are impressive. For us Canucks $18 and change delivered in two days here in Ontario. Better pattern as well and I am thinking I might have to adjust the trajectory if I don't want to blind on coming traffic. With the older Kisan modulator it flashes on and off rather then modulating which is ok during the day to warn people in the left hand turn lane coming at me.
And this one is kind of a happy birthday Crantini photo.

Which one? I see a few different options on the site. There's one with fins at the base, another without, Some come with add on boxes, one is just plug and go....

I'd like to have a new LED light, as the one I have scatters the light everywhere and is not very functional...

You want an H4 plug in ? I have a Cree that looks like a locomotive light. Or do you want the sealed bulb option ? The former would be about 50 and the latter up to 150

Yep, just the H4 plug in.

I have an older LED model, but I guess they are placed in the wrong spot as they spread the light all over the place and are blinding upcoming vehicles.

I looked on the site mentioned, but there was nothing at $18, the H4 there is $7.99. Maybe it was $7.99 + shipping made it to $18...

Would this be the one used here?

That looks good, but the lumens are a bit low. There are 10,000 plus on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Philips-H4-16...Ul2&vxp=mtr sorta like that, 8,000 lumens.
Two years ago I paid 85.00 for just ONE ! Now they are in pairs for 18.00

That's a 160W bulb!

Not sure how long the little America's battery will last with something like that!

I was getting LED for the brightness and the lower wattage from 55W filament ones.

Yes that is the one and it was $18 with shipping and handling to Ottawa.

I was at the store a few weeks ago on route to Niagara for a wedding and some of the lights and accessories look even better in person then on the web site.

FYI KISAN older modulator (pathBlazer) will not work properly with LED needs to be re-programmed) works for a time then it gets confused and will shut off. Not made to work with LED and now comes designated LED.

You will know it is not correctly suited if when you start the bike up it flashes numerous times.

If it shuts off while driving at night, drop it back to low beam. Contact KISAN if you have the older non LED version.

Here is a test results of the LED vs Halogen vs Stock I did.

Eddy

Periphreal view improved a great deal.

Changing headlight... please correct me if I am wrong,

1) Open the head light housing from the front. 2 screws on the bottom of the circumference at about 4:00 and 8:00
2) Get that weird wire spring around the circumference off
3) Using a cloth, press and twist the bulb out of the housing
4) Using a cloth, press and twist the new bulb in
5) Put everything back where it came from?

I could not get that wire spring off and aft er 5 min, felt like it should not be this hard and decided to do it later.

Has anyone tried these LED direct replacements for Halogen bulbs. The LED placement closely mimics the Halogen filament helping to ensure proper reflective characteristics down the road.

Greg I bought the $11 H4 model from KapscoMoto in Pickering and as mentioned in another post I am impressed. Perhaps the others with heat disappation fins work better and maybe some day I'll try them but for the rest of this season I'm good.

I don't know why but I just had the most difficult time putting the headlight assembly back together the ring came out with no problems , I changed to the new led bulb from fast Eddie that Santa brought me and then , holy crap !! The thing fought me like crazy trying to get the ring back in place but I just kept at it and finally it just snapped in ? Funny how things do that sometimes . I remember couple yrs ago I was changing the alternator on my sons Kia van after what seemed like hrs of fighting it , it just popped out I have no explanation at all as to why or what was the hold up but believe me I didn't question it when that ring snapped back into place and the screw holes were lined up ? I was quick to get the screws in and be done with it now to go for a ride and make sure it stays and all is well . Just in time for bike night . It sure is bright in the shop , can't wait to see what it looks like at night . Now I think I need to change the light bar lights , they just look weak and yellow

Thanks for the Superbright link I'll be ordering some for my tail/brakelight this spring. That price even with our Loonie it is still worth the value to bring it in. Can't find any in Canada. (But I have been know to be wrong)
