My speedo, tach and back light do not seem to be working. Bulb is good in the back, all fuses are good. Haven't pulled the speedo or tach bulbs yet. More concerned with the back light.

there is one empty spot,on the left row of fuses, second from the bottom. is this supposed to be empty? when I put the key in the ignition, turn the key to the start position,no back light,no speedo light,no tach light. when I turn the key one more position,I get the back light, but still no speedo or tach lights. this means the bulb is good in the back. it wont come on in when the bike is "on/run" position. am I missing something obvious? a switch somewhere? a loose connector?

Yeah,it starts and runs great. Headlight works,it's the back light that doesn't. Thanks

Didn't you just install LED idiot lights and head light?
Maybe a connector became disconnected?

I was thinking that too. I'll pull the tach bezel when I get home from work and see.

I checked it right before I went to bed last night. Now the back light doesn't come on at all, even in the accessory position.

I plugged the original headlight bulb back in to check and see if the LED headlight had something to do with it. Still no back light.

Which one is the headlight relay? is there a way to test it to see if it's the culprit? why would the headlight relay affect the rear, speedo, and tach lights?

If it is a relay,is that a part the FLAPS is going to have? Or do I have to order one from the internet?

There are two relays on the right side of the frame spine under the tank. One is the headlight relay the other is the blinker relay. I buy mine (headlight) from a electronic warehouse store for $1.89 plus tax. The spades config must match and the rating numbers be relatively close to OEM and you are good to go in that respect. Inspecting every male and female plug connects and applying de-ox grease while you're at it is something that will forestall future hiccups. These can be handy too: contact_files Stay with it and you'll figure it out and be riding again soon.

After work im going to get some new fuses, dielectric grease, and new bulbs (1157 is the correct one I believe) and give it a go. I had a similar problem with my VW van a few years back. Headlight went out. Put a new bulb in,still out. Popped the fuse out, looked to be good, but tried a new fuse anyway. Bingo! Headlight came on. Thanks for the tips.

Relays are pretty much a common thing. Bosch makes one, so do several other folks, just don't get a Chinese crap one. You can get at any parts house. Take yours to the part store and they can match it.

It was an easy fix. Same thing happened on my VW van a few years back. Fuse was good, but light wouldn't work. Popped a brand new fuse in and now it works. Glad it was an easy fix, cause I want to ride! Thanks for everyone's help.
