Saw this on the news earlier and there was some question weather he would be charged with anything at all and he still may get off.The assertion that he was stung by a wasp would qualify as an unexpected act of God relieving him of responsibility. I would like to see someone run over his a$$ in return and it is obviously a deliberate action but that doesn't mean much in court anymore. It's what you can prove or disprove.

He will be doing between 5 and 15 years for assault with a deadly weapon. He will care when the judge hands down his sentence.

He also stated he would apologize to the passenger but not the driver, tends to indicate a deliberate action. If it had been an accident due to a sting he should feel bad for both as it was unintentional in that case.

My wife had a 21 year old drunk driver pull out in front of her on May 11, 2010. We are still seeking damages from the insurance company. My wife will never go back to work. 3 operations and nerve damage. Kid got no jail time. Was convicted on a Felony that got down graded to a mister-meaner after alcohol abuse classes. He has had 2 more DWI convictions since my wife's accident. First pray that the young lady recovers. Second hope he has insurance to help cover the bills. Third hope they get a good lawyer. Hope they throw the book at the bast$rd.

This happened in Texas, where mercy is a shadow of a dream. Here in the great nation of Tejas we prosecute, incarcerate, and make you pay for years upon release. This guy will never see the day that he is not answering to the state.
He will do between 5 and 15 years in one of our fine facilities and another 10 paying visits to one of our elustrious department of corrections officials.
He is 67 now. It is not likely he will see the day that he can walk free and clear.

ya this is bad, I seen it posted somewhere on facebook, my only concern for the "liable part" was the bikes were passing on solid lines? Is that ok over there?

I know in Vermont there are certain times you CAN pass on a double/solid yellow, like passing a tractor, but otherwise no. From what I've seen, that's the car driver's beef. "he was doing something illegal, so I stopped it."
Here are my issues with all of this...
Two illegal actions don't make one legal one! What he did is ALSO illegal.
Traffic violations aren't publishable by death, and he's not judge, jury and executioner!!! Eff him.
What if a witness decided the cage driver's illegal action deserved a lethal beating on the side of the road?!? Shouldn't we all get the same liberty to decide if he does?
The guy can't see past his own nose, he thinks he knows best for ALL, and doesn't value the life of his fellow citizens. Screw him.

Nope I agree 100% I was just thinking if they rider of the bike is going to have to battle some unnecessary BS in this case is all. The guy knew what he did as soon as he got out of the car, did not even seem rattled at all.

Yeah that guy has to have a screw loose to be THAT ok with hurting someone... And yeah the biker may have some BS to answer to, but it's a traffic violation at most.
