Years ago, bout 2008 I saw a post from someone who had modified the foot control bar to push the controls a couple of inches further forward. Despite searches, I can't seem to find any information on how it was done. I've checked out commercially available forward control kits but at around £600 they're beyond my wallet. Anybody know where I can find the info on this mod. Thanks

SDKimo, thank's for the "plug". I tried moving them forward and i did the left one no problem. The right one caused me all kinds of problems with moving the master cyl. forward, it got too close to the exhaust pipe for my liking so i had to scrap the idea. Safety has to be the #1 priority and i couldn't see any other way to move it forward without getting the master cyl. boiled. If anyone has an idea please let me know. I've had many requests to move them forward but had to turn them down.

Go to a different exhaust. Unfortunately not one vendor in the worldwide Triumph vendor sphere sells a aftermarket exhaust specifically for our bikes. A made to order/fit TT style that joined into a collector beneath the front of the engine, that comes out either side and marries up with one stock configuration silencer can that connects neatly to our existing mounts? The ease of modifying our controls is severely hampered by the proximity of the headers, move them and it gets easy. I saw a Thruxton and engaged the rider at a local store, he had beautiful TT pipes, just like I described and made by Thunderbike, from NZ. Whether you're re locating foot controls or not, a choice of exhaust options, wouldn't be to much to ask for, from the entrepreneurial lot.

I moved mine about a half inch or so forward by shacking some stainless washers between the foot control bar and the frame, and buying longer bolts. I also made a small aluminum plate to basically shim the master cylinder back away from the header, essentially rotating back, pivoting on the brake lever. My pics are gone now too, so I'll try to grab a shot at home if you want.

I did a forward extension for a local guy maybe 8 years ago. I made aluminum adapter blocks to move the shifter forward (and longer rod) on the brake side I made a plate to move the peg mount, left the brake stuff in place and extended the brake pedal. The brake pedal extension was a cut and paste because that is what the guy wanted, a new pedal could be made instead (and look better).
I was looking for pix of this but have yet to find them.

As far as the brake side, move/change the reservoir. It's only connected by a rubber hose.
Life may begin at 30, but it gets really interesting around 150!
