Hey Ade, you responding with that today is quite a coincidence. While filling up my truck at a local Sedona gas..ahem..petrol station this morning, I ran into a large bunch of your fellow Brits proudly displaying their Union Jacks on the back of their rented Harleys, and I struck up a conversation with 'em. After noticing the Triumph T-shirt I was sportin', one of 'em said he had a Rocket 3 Tourer back in Blighty with a custom paint job of 23 coats of lacquer in a British military paint scheme.
(...nice bunch of people...they started out in L.A. and were making a big loop through the Southwest)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Years ago when 16" m/c tires were scarce a mate used a car radial tire on his WLA Harley chop back wheel.A slight power difference compared to a R3 I know  but he said it handled great.

I considered going to "the dark side" but the thought of cornering a bike that weights as much as a car on the edge of a car tyre, on our crappy roads, didn't appeal funnily enough.

1, 2, 3 Funny thing tires are. Oil too. Those suckers just never last! Replaced the amsoil in three Americas. Ouch. Looking at two rear 888s too. Double ouch. EarthX battery for prudence. Triple ouch. Yeah Chy, bikes or axes, they both shred wallets.

I THINK the steel belt radial car tires are ok but I can't swear to it.Maybe worth chasing up?
