With a really heavy heart I want to let you all know that Big Jack Wilson, friend of many in here Passed away around 3:00 PM on Monday at home with Dianne and their son Jake and grand daughter. His suffering of the past week has ended.
I talked with Dianne tonight and she asked me to post on the forums for her. I started this as new thread as this will be the place I direct Diane too to view condolences and anything you would like to share.
We had planned to make one last trip to Georgia this weekend. Had the privileged of riding with him on two trips, one to New York and one to Arizona and at a number of rallies. An American hero who served in Vietnam,and most never knew the pain he carried from that war. I was proud to have shared the road with him.
Jack, my friend and brother, I would say rest, but I don't think you will...so I will say ride on my brother..ride on.

I am going to miss Jack tremendously, I thoroughly enjoyed his company. Never one short for a story or a joke, he was a real treat to be around, and a hell of a guy to ride with. This forum, and all the rallies he attended will not be same without him.
To Dianne and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that his memory will live on with us.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

This is such sad news to me. I really liked Jack a LOT. His stories and his personality were always so impressive to me. I will really miss Jack and wish he could have ridden his bird one more time, one more rally. I wish my best to Dianne and the family. What a loss.

That is not good news. Very sad. My condolences to Jacks Wife Dianne and Their Son. He will be missed.

Please know that mrs newt and I are both saddend by this news. Jack and diane were a couple that we felt an attachment to when at the ga rallies. Jacks stories always kept us entertained and mrs newt felt so very comfortable around diane. When she was not going to be able to get to ga with me she would always want me to tell diane hello and would always want to know if they were there when I got home. He will be missed and his family is in our prayers. I know that he is one of those guys that will slide thru the pearly gates saying "man what a ride" !!! Rest in peace my friend .

Prayers and thoughts to the family. Only talked to Jack a few times through this site but could tell he was a special person. Never got to meet him in person. That will be my loss. So sorry for your loss. May God give you strength in this very hard time.

A big loss to many of us here. My condolences to Diane and the family. We all enjoyed Jack's stories and his "big man" presence.

Very sorry to hear of Jack's passing.
Judie and I had the pleasure of meeting Jack in person when he rode out for the SW rally a couple years ago, and he turned out to be as personable and likable as I thought he'd be after all the years of conversing with him at this website.
My condolences to Diane, Jake, and all of Jack's family and friends.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

This is sad news indeed. I never met Jack but I wanted to. Especially after the journal sat up here in the NW for so long. I know Jack was upset about that and we exchanged words (emails) over it. Thing is that we also made our peace over it because what we figured out is that we were both on the same page with our feelings about it. It was such an awesome thing he started with that journal.
It was shortly after he received it that we here learned of his battle with cancer. It was after all that that I wanted to meet the man.
Im glad he got to see the journal before he passed and read everything in there. I guess all things seem to happen for a reason.
We often know of one another from this website that somehow brings so may together and it never fails that a loss of one is a loss to all.
To Jacks family - my condolences from the bottom of my heart.

I had the pleasure of meeting Big Jack on several occasions and he was a good soul. I loved to watch how excited it made him to see where all the journal had been. You will be remembered in the wind and in the pages of that book, my friend.

I'm always sadden when we lose a brother, I never met Jack but reading testimonials from the ones that have, he was a great man, husband, father and friend.

My sincere condolences to all of Jack's family.Having recently lost my Dad I understand all too well the pain you are going through.His memory will surely live on through this forum and of course the riding journal he started.

I rode with him in our group a couple years back at the last Arkansas rally I attended. As I recall, he sure loved his BBQ. RIP, Jack.

I got to ride with a few years back, at the midwest rally when we missed a light coming out of a little town, got separated form the rest of the group - and somehow beat everyone to the next rendezvous point. The coffee can on the engine block story just cracked me up. Split a room with him at the El Dorado Demo ride pre-Arkansas Rally, now more glad than ever got another chance to spend some time in his company.
My sincerest condolences to Diane & the rest of Big Jack's family.
