My Mom passed away peacefully this morning.
Although I've tried to prepare for this, it's still hard to take.
She had a good run, 94 and 3/4 years.
I'm sure she is in a better place now.

I am very sorry to hear that news Uncle Charlie. I know you were very close. At almost 95 she had a fantastic run, but I know that does not make it any easier to accept. You have my deepest sympathies.
Carl.

94+, man that is a good run, I can only imagine the changes that woman has seen and I'll celebrate her life by including you and her in my prayers. A son losing a mother is tough, they love you regardless

This is sad news indeed, Uncle Charlie... my deepest heartfelt condolences. I am currently with my mom who at the age of 91 has developed congestive heart failure and pneumonia. It's not easy, I know.

Thanks for including us in your thoughts. I hope you soon find peace in all of this.

Live to love, love to live.

Sorry for the loss of your beloved mother, Charlie.

I know from firsthand experience, no matter how old your Mom is when she passes, it still hurts for a while.

It's a tough deal for sure, but I think you'll be ok Charlie. One thing that helped me was remembering how my parents handled the loss of their parents. I recognize that many of my better traits are their traits in me. It leaves a hole, but I like to think how many, if not most of us were fortunate enough to have parents who left a hole

Sorry for your loss unclecharlie.

While I am not qualified to write a proper obituary, I would like to share a few facts about unclecharlie's Mom. Mrs. Coe was part of the WWII generation, and served her country as a Naval officer during said war, where she met unclecharlie's Dad, also a Naval officer.

After the war, she went on to get a degree at ivy league Columbia University, then began a career teaching and raising her family. Her husband, Mr. Coe, died young, leaving her to raise two spirited lads, unclecharlie and his brother.

Not sure which was more of a challenge - riding herd on unclecharlie and brother or doing battle with the Nazis / Japanese. I'll leave that conclusion to the imagination of the reader and in stead, offer to her a prayer.

May the good earth be soft under you when you rest upon it,
and may it rest easy over you when, at the last, you lay out under it,
and may it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly,
and up, and off, and be on its way to God.

Charlie, my sincere condolences. Nothing drives the point home more than when Hospice calls the undertaker. My wife tried to convey the feeling, yet her attempt in no way prepared me for her father being on that gurney yesterday morning: Father's Day. To quote an historical figure,

"Free At last! Free At last! Thank God Almighty, (They) Are Free At Last!"

Rejoice in their rapture Charlie.
