It was just on the news here in San Antonio. A guy went to the store layaway dept. and found numerous accounts with worth while gifts where the working poor had been paying on them. He paid up the accounts and made sure it was anonymous. It was so great seeing the footage of the shocked faces when they went into pay off the stuff for the kids toys etc. and the balance was 0. I think its a fabulous idea!

I agree - wonderful. Especially because those people with the lay-away are doing it the right way, paying up front - not just being irresponsible and loading up their credit cards. And because he remained anonymous.

In these days of greed and corruption it is wonderful to hear of such a kind act. Well done, whoever they are.
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker...
Well, she's not actually my girlfriend yet.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Same thing happened at the Wal Mart I work at, several accts. were paid for people who had health problems and were struggling to pay. This was done at several different times not all at once.

On a much smaller scale, if you're in a drive-through, whether fast food or coffee or whatever, pay for the car behind you. You should be long gone before they realize what happened.

I've heard of "paying it forward" but never "paying it backward." Great idea btw!

Its always good to know that the good is still out there. Although I am generally pessimistic about the most complicated of Gods crazy creatures, occasionally they prove their worth in small ways.

And I would just like to provide a little more balance to humanity by getting the home address of the last person who designed the computer virus that attacked my wife's laptop last month, therby making some adustments to HIS personal life....

Yaknow, years ago there was a lot of suspicion that Norton himself was writing virus type stuff then releasing the cure to build his business.
Now I think its mostly script kiddies that love to disrupt peoples lives just because they can.

Great idea, I just put a stripper pole on lay-away for The Friar.
