Hey folks, I am sure this is coincidental? I installed some new bullet blinkers from Eddy (blinkers work fine), but after I had finished and buttoned up the unit for a ride, when I started the bike and it was misfiring terribly!
When I parked the bike 3 days earlier it was running perfect. Now after the install it pops and backfires. I have removed the tank, pulled the plugs, and cranked the engine and found the spark output less than exciting, both sides. Then it started to rain and I had to stow it! I have not checked the primary voltage to the coils, but it seems indicative of low voltage, since both coils are performing the same.
Never had new plugs or any other issues dealt with. Any ideas? Could the blinker install in the front have started this issue?
Thanks Mark

Check the easy things first, check the vacuum caps, the rubber carb mounts, any new wires in close proximity of the coil wires?

Might want to double-check all the wiring harness connectors around where you were working with the wiring associated with the blinkers. I believe the blinkers all tie into the harness within the headlight bucket. Since your bike was doing fine before the new blinker install it just about has to be something in the area of the wiring where you were working though probably not directly related to the blinker circuit. Like Two Wheel N said, check the simple stuff first.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

Well, I did do the simple stuff first, I CHARGED the battery good. Runs great now! I could tell the spark was very weak, and having both plugs doing the same thing it had to be a common issue. Glad it's done!
I guess the new coil, plugs, plug wires, and other stuff I ordered will make it run that much sweeter! Thanks to everyone for the input.
R, Mark
