Like the hard bags Ray. Look nice! Do they have more space inside than the stock leather triumph bags?

Those hard bags look as if they were purposely designed for your T-Bird, Ray! (...nice touring rig ya got there!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Mighty nice there Ray. I am envious. Must be a blast with the 1700 kit too. Ride recklessly!

Must say that the bags and the backrest make the bike look alot better. Normally I think bikes look better without the bags but not with this one . atb geoff

I've got enough with my own Ivan, loose it this weekend as it goes back in to the stealers.
As for the broken wrist been there got the ticket and the T shirt, mind you it never stopped me when Mark arrived on the T-bird when he first got it. I managed around 20 mile trip..
Never thought that I would own his bike though a year later....

Plenty of time to tour Europe, it's not as though I havent been there... Toured Europe many years ago and took 3 weeks and stopped in some fantastic places, it's just a shame I was in four wheels with a little bike on the back, not much power for some of those hills...

Picked the bird up yesterday, New pistons, rings and liners and she sounds as sweet as lark first thing in the morning.
I had a look at the liners and pistons they had taken out and was suprised to see the pistons worn at one side and the liners marked to he11.
Anyway it was not my imagination that something was wrong....

Glad you got it sorted Ray - worrying development all the same. Mine is out of warranty at the end of the month so will be investing in a 24 month extension for £320 just in case.

Very nice bike. When it came out I really wanted one. But I've been waiting for them to create a streetglide version with a batwing fairing and short windshield. You already have the bags for it which look like they came from the factory and was meant for it all along.

Hey Lee, is that mounting block an original Thunderbird part?

If you're referring to the two triangular pieces - Nope.... They are just some 2 or 3 mm thick stainless steel cut, shaped and drilled.
The part the holds the lamps and is bolted onto that fabricated part IS an OEM part! I believe that is the original item you have with the Rocket III lamps - but its turned upside down!
EDIT: Here you go - from Bike Bandit. Item #2: BRACKET,HEADLIGHT PIVOT - 1397119 (BikeBandit Item No.) - $20.31

Yes - that's the stock 'block' that the standard Thunderbird lamp is mounted too.
